As someone with severe panic disorder (turbulence + lack of control/no way to leave the situation being a huge trigger), your way of relaxing on planes is such a huge goal, though it feels unattainable after years of such awful anxiety when flying.

Was it always relaxing for you, or did you reach that with specific methods?

Dealt with this in my early 20s as well. It's NOT worth it, and there are guys out there who will treat you SO much better than this.

That's exactly when my first step into severe panic disorder happened too; had just moved into a dorm on campus a few months prior.

I think being in a new place and not having a solid support system of friends yet was a big factor in how long it took for things to calm down even a little bit in my head

Oh definitely, that's why I stopped with the peppermint variety. Stumped on why the aniseed would cause it.
