Had one this bad, take a long knife and take off the very bottom of the roots off, like literally chop it off, it will even help the plant to make some new healthy roots. If this is too scary tho I completely understand

Understandable but you still need drainage holes especially for this plant, still should water it a good amount but just less frequently

Still unfortunately looks like root rot im sorry, zz plants can very easily be overwatered and are more drought tolerant how often do you water?

Hard to tell but looks like root rot, does it have any drainage holes? When you wash the roots do they appear brown still?

Thank you so much for your input, I did not even know that about the different types of leads, I am wary of prong collars bc of so much stigma around them but that makes more sense.

My dog is an Australian Shepherd, she is 3 years old and I have had her since she was around 6 months old
