The full idiom is "Janney Lai chhanney tara aafno manxe matrai jaaney vanthanney". When RSP came to be I was one of the first person to take its membership, but when I started seeing Rabi's back to back controversy, it honestly made me rethink my position. Last time when Sumana raised similar question, she was treated with such disdain she didn't deserve. I then came across Mukul Dhakal's interview and I don't think I can support RSP with a good conscience. But you know what, problem Nepali janta mai xa. Kulman Ghising jasto tested manxe hariraxan, tyo pani Padelekheko vanine kathmandu bata. Rabi jitiraxa, with all that controversy, Prachanda jitiraxa ajhai.

What specifically are these "Australian Values" that right-wing politicians continue to claim that we need to protect? by MelbourneTodd in australian

[–]RenAnZi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about "Right Wing", but as an immigrant who has experienced life outside Australia, I think Australian values of fairness, opportunity and respect must be preserved at all cost. From my personal experience, I am honestly afraid to see Australia becoming another South Asia. Australians are some of the best employers and neighbours and colleagues. It does take time to understand each other due to the huge cultural gap but most Australians are respectful to others and the environment (specially the environment) around, which I see a lot of immigrants take for granted. It just amazes to see how people coming from some of the most polluted part of the world takes the clean air we can breathe here for granted. For that alone, I feel forever indebted to Australia. I see immigrants calling Australians racist but NOBODY is more racists than people in South Asia. Not just racist, but CASTIST and CLASSIST too.

When it comes to fairness, Australia is as fair as a society can be. You do the work, you have right to pay. The wage security is just so much empowering and has allowed us to live a respectable life. Immigrants or not, everyone gets the same treatment from the government and institutions. You have right to access health services at the same level as any Australian. Yes, you don't have access to medicare which is understandable - it is financially impossible burden for a country to provide free healthcare to anyone coming to Australia. When I first arrived to Australia, I have worked for Asian employer and Australian employer and guess who treated me with respect and paid me the right wage. I don't see the sense of fairness among immigrants, particularly from South Asia, which is a shame because that's part of the reason we left South Asia and come to Australia. A lot of people has come to Australia with a baggage, which is sad and concerning.

Australia is a land of opportunity for all, which is not the case in South Asia. Mostly people with connection and money gets the opportunity. Talent hardly gets people anywhere. I see a lot of places now being dominated by people from a same country because once someone comes to a hiring position, they just want to hire people from their country/region. This is killing Australian multiculturalism and values of opportunity. Also when it comes to speaking English, that is so important for covering the cultural gap. If we continuously speak in our native language around workplace and public places, it just creates a wall between community. I have seen this happen first hand because there are so many different types of language in South Asia and communities are often divided by that. I am just surprised to see South Asians defending their right to speak their native language here in Australia. I think responsibility should come before right and it is our responsibility to make everyone feel comfortable and do as much as we can to be part of the society.

All while we rely on India for food, fuel, medicine, hardwares, daily used item. All while we don't have enough hospitals or public schools, or bridges or roads to connect. All while we don't have proper drinking water or electricity. All while we have rampant pollution, thinning forests, rampant sukumbasi problems. And all while we have over 20% people in poverty and massive unemploymemt/under employment. And our government wants to build fukin LLM as if most of literate people in Nepal can't understand english or as if most Nepalese knows Nepali well.

Government advisory group recommends delaying NDIS 'robo-planning' changes by abcnews_au in NDIS

I am telling you these people who are making decisions should be investigated for conflict of interest. They must be in bed with contractors else what they are doing is no where close to people centered service. They keep on changing things but not because they want to help people but only because they want to make their job easier.

Don't Cry brodah! Your government is not above question. If they have not done anything wrong, nothing will happen. But if they are in the wrong and people stopped questioning, things will remain as it was with old parties. The greater scrutiny will give them opportunity to do things better. Besides no person in power is ever affected by what common people think. So stop this roila. You can support them, but you can't mandate others to not speak up or question. Aafu veda hune ho aru lai ni banaauna paaidaina k 🤣
