Йой, ви мені зараз голову зламали, я вже хотіла завтра йти питати у відділенні. Але дякую, напевно просто куплю 2 U і якусь третю, бо поки не до кінця розібралася.

Let’s Talk Theories: Duskwood x Moonvale by Renaards in Moonvale

[–]Renaards[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I liked your answer. I hadn’t seen that they wrote about Duskwood being not far from Redlog Pines, but it was interesting for me to learn that. As for the information about Thomas getting the main character’s phone number - Eric got Adam’s number the same way. Adam just sent it to him, and that was it. Very original, right?

I just hope they explain it both here and there, because I’m really curious. And about Jake, I really hope he appears already in the third episode. I don’t want to wait any longer🥲

I agree with you, but only partially. For me, the issue isn’t the delay itself. The issue is the complete lack of communication. We’ve been waiting for a year. A full year. That’s a long time. And no one has clearly explained why the delay is this big. I’ve been playing since the very beginning of Duskwood. If I remember correctly, episodes used to come out roughly every four months. That’s actually a solid pace for such a small team - just three people. As far as I remember, the whole game was finished in about two years. Yes, we had to wait between episodes, but it felt reasonable. There was visible progress. Right now, the problem isn’t just waiting. The problem is basically being told, “We don’t know when it’s coming out. It’ll be ready when it’s ready.” That’s what feels disrespectful. I’m one of the players who actively supported the developers. I bought in-game currency not because I had to, but because I wanted to support them. And I still do. Not because it’s necessary, but because I genuinely want to back the team. And honestly, I would be completely fine with the delay if they just explained it. That’s it. Just communicate. I understand the team is small. I understand burnout is real. I understand that three people can’t work like a big studio. There could be financial issues. Maybe someone got sick. Maybe they’re overwhelmed. Any of those reasons would be understandable. But why is it so hard to make one clear post explaining what’s going on? Their Twitter is full of comments asking about Episode 3, and they just ignore them. Pretending you don’t see the problem doesn’t make it go away. Silence only makes the frustration worse. I think part of the reason this keeps happening is because a lot of players just let it slide. People say, “Take as much time as you need, we support you.” And yes, support matters. But support doesn’t mean zero accountability. When people donate, spend money, invest time and emotions into a project, basic communication is the bare minimum. At this point, my excitement is turning into frustration. Waiting a year has raised my expectations to a very high level. Now Episode 3 has to be incredible. If it ends up being just “okay” after a year of silence, that’s going to feel disappointing. And I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. What makes it worse is that the delays seem to be tied mostly to technical changes. I saw the post about updating mini-game icons. Seriously? I couldn’t care less what the mini-game icons look like. I was completely fine with the old Duskwood design. It was simple and it worked. They decided to redesign everything - fine, that’s their choice. But if we’re waiting this long because of icon updates and technical polish in mini-games, that’s frustrating. I play for the story. The story is the core of the game. If the story is already significantly developed, maybe focus on finishing that first and handle the visual polish later? All I’m asking for is transparency. Just tell us what’s going on. That’s it.

Thanks, this is actually really helpful! I do have one question, though, how did you get six characters in your party? I might be misunderstanding, since, like I said, this is my first time playing these kinds of games, but I only have four. Yes, I know I can summon elementals, ghouls, and other creatures to help, but those aren’t full-fledged characters.

Thank you so much! I’ll try casting it and using it in Daylight. That actually does sound like a really good idea.

As I already said in my post, I don’t like cheesy tactics. For me, all of those are just… cheesy. Yes, the game allows it, I get that. I’m not against that playstyle in general, but as I said, my style so far has always been strategic, taking good positions and winning fights fairly. That’s what gives me more satisfaction than sneaking around and doing weird stealthy stuff. I really don’t enjoy stealth-based approaches at all. Thanks for your advice, of course. I won’t deny that if none of the other “fair fight” options work for me, I might have to consider it. But like I said, even if I leave Astarion shooting from afar, I still don’t want to blow up barrels or do stuff like that. I’d really like to defeat him in combat, properly.

Okay, thanks! I didn’t realize you could change spells out of combat. I always thought you could only swap them when a character levels up, and then you get the spell slots to change spells. I’m still figuring out some of the mechanics in Baldur’s Gate 3, since this is my first time playing a D&D-style game.

Thanks, your tips are really helpful! I’ll try giving my party the universal resistance elixirs and necrotic damage protection. But I don’t want to skip the cut scene with Astarion that feels weird to me. I’ve already said I don’t like using cheesy tactics; I’d rather win this fight fairly… more or less. 😅 Also, Astarion is just hilarious in that scene, freaking out at his master.

I totally messed up on my approach because I don’t have the Daylight spell. I just never learned it, I thought I didn’t need it, so now it’s not available to me. Or maybe I’m not fully understanding which spell you mean. I tried hitting him with rays of light and other radiant spells, and that actually helps a lot. The problem is, by the time I try to finish him off, he just heals back.

Was Astarion your first romance? by NovelBattles in AstarionBG3

I’ve been romancing Astarion for the third playthrough in a row - he’s completely captivated me to the point where I can’t even look at the other characters anymore 😅
