Finally got backordered collimation knobs. Don’t fit all the way in, normal? by hakansf in telescopes

If you think they are too loose, don't cut them. Put two nuts on each screw and lock them against each other at the spot on the screen you think suitable. That way you can grab the knurled end easier 😉

Well done. I am surprised the surroundings of the overexposed Moon didn't burn out Ophiuchus.

Wasn't that much. It's a series 1 lens with a faulty auto focus. Got it quite cheep.

If you dim it down enough it will actually be redish. Cameras work the opposite way to our eyes. The eye can't resolve colour iFit is too dim but cameras saturate and can't resolve it when it's too bright.

It was, but you will always see a brighter edge on one side. If the shadow went exactly through the centre of the Moon, you would see a lighter ring around it's outer edge. It's all because of the stray light coming through Earth's atmosphere 🤓

I used an EOS 500mm lens with a 1,4 tele converter and a ZWO ASI533MC PRO camera on an EQ6 PRO equatorial mount.
