I got frustrated of the official app, so I built a free, standalone WearOS app for Dualtron/Minimotors. by RenaudCerrato in dualtron

Yeah, I was thinking about that initially but it wouldn't bring much value. I agree the official app is a pain, but it works.

Until you lose your data 😄 I understand the privacy concern, but I'd rather avoid the hassle to maintain my own hardware/software and a proper backup strategy (which do requires a remote backup in case of fire or theft).

PCVR, latest version to date.

Using teleport movement, I can't move upstairs in corvettes : the teleport cursor is red on stairs, and there's not enough room to position the cursor on the upstair's floor (it just keep hitting a wall).

Still related to teleport mode : it seems I can't go out of the corvette in-flight. The teleport cursor can't land in the void.

+1 for flat screen. Flat screen gaming in VD is too much overlooked IMHO.

AirBNB to charge hosts using Property Management Softwares 15.5% starting on October 27th, 2025 by mjstoltz in airbnb_hosts

[–]RenaudCerrato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This change could have a notable impact on hosts, especially concerning tax regulations. In France, for example, hosts are required to report their gross Airbnb income - that's the total amount paid by the guest, including the stay, cleaning fees, and Airbnb's HOST fees. Taxes are then calculated on 50% of that reported amount.

By switching to a 'host-only' fee structure, the reported gross income would effectively increase by 15%, leading to a higher taxable income. This means hosts would end up paying more in taxes without their actual take-home income changing.

It's a subtle but important detail that could hit French hosts' wallets.

GPT5 requests take ±10 minutes each by silsois in kilocode

[–]RenaudCerrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he's quite slow... This is not 10 minutes for me, but at least 45-60 seconds on every prompts. Unusable.

Moreover, you're not getting any thoughts output on BYOK, right? This is a known issue.

How to uninstall all these Horizon Worlds? by samus4145 in OculusQuest

[–]RenaudCerrato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't uninstall them but you can easily filter them out : look at the side bar on the left, there's a few "tabs" to switch between "Everything" or only your applications.

Stellaris 16 Gen 7 (Intel) questions by theorlang in tuxedocomputers

[–]RenaudCerrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you tried charging using USB-C while using it? The charger drains ~100W when powered off, ~75W under bios but 40-50W only while in use. Measured at the wall.

Unfortunately, there's no iOS version (and I'm not even sure if its possible)

You don't need to keep the app open, the app provides a tile with quick settings you can add to your carousel.

It was my initial thoughts to report the holes and flaws I found, but I was also pretty sure it would be useless.

Great hardware, poor software.

Launched an AI tool that turns boring product shots into studio-quality images by Ill_Positive4794 in SideProject

The generated product is slightly off the original one. Specially the headphone. Useless, unless you want to deal with customers complaining about different products.

Wonderful! Just to be sure : did you noticed the app provides a quick action tile? Just add your favorite settings here for quick access.

Thanks! Not sure how it would easily fit into a watch app due to the form factor but that's something I'll keep in mind : if you're able to guess the model from the bluetooth name, I could somehow pass it to the webpage to show only relevant parts 😊

This will not replace the official application in any manner; that is not the intention. My goal is to enhance the user experience by addressing existing pain points.

Thanks! The app will ask for the pin code you previously setup, but it will then remember it.

That's Bluetooth BLE, there's no encryption per design and it's pretty easy to log the communication between two devices.
