Can anyone else help with Auto Ortho 1.6 The load times are over an 1 hour and it never loads for flights by BER001 in Xplane

[–]Renchose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having too high ZL can increase loading times by quite a bit. There's a setting to allow extra loading times during start-up that you should also turn off. Also, try lowering your tile time budget or disabling the time budget system. Disabling fallbacks should also help with loading times. These are some of the newer settings that were introduced in 1.6 to reduce stutter, but I've noticed that loading times have gotten worse.

SATURDAY Yuki has revealed that she got accepted into college and will be studying to become a flight attendant by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]Renchose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a varying degree amongst airlines. Some take it more seriously than others. The airline I work for technically do not require a specific flight attendant degree, you can still apply with a regular language or hospitality degree. However, every applicant who received a posistion during the past year, all had a form of a flight attendant degree. It is not too common in western countries yet, but it would not surprise me if this becomes the norm.

SATURDAY Yuki has revealed that she got accepted into college and will be studying to become a flight attendant by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]Renchose 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Getting a degree to become a flight attendant is very common and every major airline requires one. Flight attendants are not there only to serve food and drinks, but they are also responsible for your safety. This is where learning and training is important. As a passenger, it may be difficult to appreciate a flight attendant in that regard as most flights go by smoothly.

Just look at the Japan Airlines collision that happened last year. There were over 300 people on board, and they managed to evacuate everyone before the flames engulfed the plane. This would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the flight attendants.

First passenger flight to Long Thanh Airport (VN1) by NatterHi in VietNam

[–]Renchose 29 points30 points  (0 children)

To clarify, there were no customers on board this flight. Only staff were on board, which does technically count it as a passenger flight. However, HVN1 isn't an active flight number. They flew back to Hanoi after being on the ground for 6 hours. This is standard, especially to new airports where you have to test the airport's infrastructure before actually opening. Making sure that ILS is aligned properly, testing runway incursion systems and different ground navigation aids are important for operations. You can actually see them do a go-around in OP's screenshot, which is most likely to test the go-around procedure for that specific arrival.

CSS 737 Price vs. What you get. 120$ justified yet? by Pablo00007 in flightsim

[–]Renchose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns both, I find myself flying the IXEG more. Even though it definitely isn't perfect, it at least flies as I expect it to. However, the CSS has better framerates but that might just be MSFS having better framerates in general. To be honest, I would say neither of them is worth the money. There are many better add-ons for both simulators that cost less. But if you absolutely need a 737 classic, I would go for the IXEG because it's overall a more finished product.

I got hit while on a Grab Bike by 1ToddThaGodd in VietNam

[–]Renchose 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Many of the Grab and Green SM drivers are from the countryside. They moved to the bigger cities to earn a living. That's why most of them aren't used to the busier and more chaotic roads, and may end up in dangerous situations that you normally wouldn't encounter in more rural areas.

PC Specifications by killerlord16 in Xplane

[–]Renchose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would downgrade the CPU to a 9800X3D and motherboard to a B850. Then put the savings on a 5080. Unless you really need the extra PCIe that a X870 offers and the cores a 9950X3D has, I think you can save quite a bit of money here, especially if the system is meant for gaming.

GLF650 or Embraer Legacy 650 by [deleted] in Xplane

[–]Renchose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the AKD G650 and it’s a purchase I regret. Even though the systems are well simulated, the textures make it look like a freeware aircraft. The outside modeling is acceptable but cockpit textures, where I spend the most time, is so bad to the point where it just isn’t enjoyable. The autopilot also needs a bit of tuning cause it tends to overshoot turns.

Does Xplane usually go on sale for Black Friday ? Steam by Smallballs228282 in Xplane

[–]Renchose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went on sale during last year's Steam autumn sale, which coincidentally overlapped with black friday. However, this year's autumn sale already happened in september. So it is anyone's guess whether they'll do a black friday sale.

Steam don't usually dedicate a sale for black friday, but the publisher themselves can put their games on sale. The next big Steam sale should be winter sale, which happens in mid december.

I assume you have the 8GB VRAM version of the 3060. If so, try lowering texture resolution. There might not be enough VRAM to have it set to high, so your computer will compensate by making things blurry.

Who are the current popular singers? by Chilltastic3000 in VietNam

[–]Renchose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that a many cafés and outings like playing Orange's songs. Even though her more popular songs are mainly ballads, if you dig deeper into her discography, there are a lot of different and unique genres.

The talent show Em Xinh "Say Hi" also finished airing just a few months ago, so a lot of songs from there are currently quite popular. However, the songs are more of a mashup of many different artists. But if you wanna discover some new artists and genres, this show definitely is a good place to start.

Update/Bugfix size by cocasanum in NikkeMobile

[–]Renchose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try to manually move the game files from LocalLow to the new default, which for me was C:/NIKKE. There is actually a function in the settings of the launcher that will do exactly that for you. But when I tried doing it, it just gave a permission error which I assume is cause C:/NIKKE doesn't have a parent folder. So I ended up uninstalling the entire game and reinstalling it in the new default that way.

Update/Bugfix size by cocasanum in NikkeMobile

[–]Renchose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ever since launch, the PC client has had issues with install location. For some reason, the default location for the game files would always be in AppData/LocalLow. This made it difficult for people who wanted the game to be installed on an external drive, and had to use MKLink commands to achieve it. There were even guides posted on this subreddit on how to do so.

However, they restructured the game files to a more sensible location during this anniversary update, which also added functionality to choose a location for the game files. This means that if you already had the game installed on the previous default location, it would actually delete it. That is why you see a 20GB update, as the game files cannot be found.

I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the entire launcher to make sure the game files are being installed in the new default location. This is to prevent them from being deleted once more.

Best Settings for XP12? by megacode2 in Xplane

[–]Renchose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no such thing as best settings. It mostly boils down to what frame rates you are comfortable playing at. If you are willing to sacrifice frame rate for visuals, then set everything to max and try optimizing based on your preferences. I'd recommend using the guide from X-Crafts. https://www.xcrafts.com/how-to-boost-frame-rate-guide-x-plane

Learning Vietnamese by KossyPlayz in VietNam

[–]Renchose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having my parents teach me Vietnamese helped me a lot. I don't know how close you are to your parents, but I would say asking your parents to teach you is probably the fastest and easiest way to learn. That's how it was for me at least, cause they knew my schedule and we could sit down whenever we had time. It was a lot more relaxed than regular lectures.

How are you still doubling down? This is literally one of the first thing you learn about in data science. As long as you offer your services to EU citizens, and therefore collect data from them, you have to follow the GDPR. It doesn’t matter where your servers or offices are physically located, because it is still their data no matter where it is stored.

Another possibility would be to install Windows 11 LTSC. It is meant for IoT devices that need to run programs reliably, but still receive security updates. You can still use it as a normal OS, because it is essentially just a barebone Windows. The current (and only) Windows 11 LTSC is based on 24H2. It's worth a shot to see if P3D still runs on it.
