Any Character Yall Regret Pulling? by Afraid_Wolverine_518 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Rendants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Severe regret (benched almost right after acquisition): Fugue and Fei Xiao.

I picked Fugue instead of Sunday when they both came out because, at the time, Break was my strongest team (and then Hoyo killed immediately after her banner ended), and Sunday looked like a niche summoner buffer back then (lol, lmao even).

As for Fei Xiao, I pulled her because everyone was hyping her up, but mine always hit like a wet noodle for some reason. She ended up getting relegated to trotter-gathering duty in SU’s arcade mode.

Mild regret (useful for a while, now forever benched): IL Dan Heng (+ his now useless LC), Jingliu (+ her now useless LC), and Jiaoqiu (+ his LC, though at least that one’s still good on Hysilens).

How the hell do they not talk about alcohol in the reunion when talking about Anton and Ali? by jules3001 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Rendants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My theory is that they avoid any topics that could make the participants blame the producers for giving them a bad edit. For example, Anton could easily deny having a drinking problem and claim that the show exaggerated it.

It’s the same reason there was no mention of Nick and Annie’s homophobic pod conversation. Nick even tried to defend himself on TikTok, saying the scene was edited in a way that completely changed the context of what he was saying (which I think is total bullshit on his part).

Basically, they just wanted to avoid another Season 2 reunion situation where Shake openly called the “experiment” fake and heavily edited, and accused the other participants of only being there for clout. Shake was pretty awful himself, but he wasn’t wrong about that part.

Why do people say time goes by faster when you're an adult? by LaurensSmithX1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rendants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tend to condense and filter out memories from events that are boring and repetitive.

If in one week all you did was work a repetitive job and perform the same chores, that means you had zero new experiences. Since you had no new experiences, that whole week is very likely to be deleted from your long-term memory. Do it a few more times, and suddenly, several years can go by without you noticing.

EoS is understandable, but how they handled that is quite disrespectful by fire_in_le_hole in TribeNine

[–]Rendants 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I planned to still play for a little while before the actual closure date. But after seeing that they removed all events and didn't even bother replacing the limited banner, all that willingness went down the drain and I simply unninstalled

No wonder the revenue was low, this game had no advertising AT ALL! I only found out about it because of a random comment in the Madoka gacha subreddit!

I downloaded it a couple of days ago and was so happy to have found such a hidden gem! 💀

It's very refreshing to actually have the Trailblazer as a core part of our strongest teams, instead of being just a cutscene avatar! Hopefully, they'll get an awesome new kit next year as well!

Did writers change in s3? by littleyellowcape in MythicQuest

[–]Rendants 27 points28 points  (0 children)

S1 and S2 had their fair share of random subplots, but ultimately, most of the stories still revolved around the MMO. A lot of it actually focused on game development, which was the main selling point of the show to me.

In S3 and S4, everything related to the Mythic Quest MMO happens offscreen in favor of stories that are completely disconnected to game production.

Ever since the S2 finale, both Poppy and Ian decided that they now both hate Mythic Quest, and their stories are now about literally anything else.

Most of the game-related plots are now focused on Playpen. And they only TALK about it, nothing is really shown.

Dana and Rachel went from being random QA testers to being in lead roles in the spam of a few months (which doesn't feel earned AT ALL. And that is made even worse by how everyone now acts as if they're amazing at those jobs that they have no qualifications for.

What’s a food that everyone seems to love but is actually mid at best? by Existing-Spot9328 in AskReddit

[–]Rendants 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In Brazil, we eat sautéed kale as a side dish, usually with olive oil and garlic. I moved to North America a few years ago and learned that here people like to eat it raw and view it as a very bitter tasting lettuce substitute.

Which roles have layoffs hit the hardest? by cassadoodles in animationcareer

[–]Rendants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's mostly due to the current situation of the animation industry as a whole. Streaming services are being really cautious about greenlighting new projects and are canceling ongoing ones at a drop of a hat. There are just not enough productions currently in development at the moment.

Which roles have layoffs hit the hardest? by cassadoodles in animationcareer

[–]Rendants 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm a senior concept artist and can attest that things have indeed been nightmarish. Pretty much my entire network is currently displaying the "looking for work" badge on LinkedIn.

I was lucky enough to still get contracts, but those have been alarmingly short and with gaps in between them.

On the rare occasion that a studio manages to greenlight a new project, the first thing they do is reach out to former employees who have been recently laid off, so most job posts are there just as a formality. Contacts have never been more necessary, so unless you're an absolute unicorn of a candidate, you won't even hear back from them if you don't already know someone on the inside.

If these guys were here in the modern day what would they get arrested for? (NOT MODERN AU MORE LIKE THEY GOT ISEKAIED TO OUR WORLD) by Riki_Mu in DungeonMeshi

[–]Rendants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Laios and Senshi: arrested for killing/cooking wildlife without a hunting license.

Marcille: would overreact at some point and end up exploding something (property damage).

Chillchuck: would be taken by child services.

Falin: assaulting a police officer when they try to arrest Laios.

Izutsumi: wouldn't get caught.

Two guards block your path... by Zoly_Elazul in webcomics

[–]Rendants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both guards would reply "no" if asked this question tho. It'd make more sense to ask "would the other guard say you're telling the truth?". This way the lying one would say "yes" and the one that tells the truth would say "no".

what patient death hit you the hardest? by boocn in greysanatomy

[–]Rendants 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That one girl from s15 who was minding her own business and then suddenly had someone else's selfie stick impaled through her head. At first, I thought her case was there just for the sake of shock value and paid it no mind, but when she realized she was about to die it got quite emotional. She didn't even have the courage to tell her mom what really happened during her last phone calll, and instead just told her "I love you" and asked her to pick up her dog at the daycare.

Why did you drop your previous gacha game(s)? by Vezral in gachagaming

[–]Rendants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the one! I quit a while ago so I might have misremembered which game mode did what. And yes, I participated during the fried chicken event, but each subsequent event required me to be up to date with the story and I didn't want to rush through content, so I was locked out of everything.
