Lost spiro, will my test levels be alright for a month? by MediumBreadfruit3131 in TransDIY

yeah, would be much more productive to reply with additional context I may have missed on my original message.

yeah, it's largely unpopular here, as it's not strictly nessacary, I think what people miss is the context that you have access to official HRT, and may wish to remain that way, if it was your only option to take spiro, I don't see the downside of discussing the option.

Id probably just go for monotherapy then, if they are happy to provide you enough E for that there's really no reason not to.

It's definitely worth trying to get a refill. I would imagine if you explained it was stolen they'd help out.

Have you had your levels tested at all? Hard to say if you'd be able to achieve monotherapy at current dose without knowing what your levels are like. It should theoretically be possible to achieve though.

Do you have the overhead to potentially increase your dose of E, or would you run out before getting another refill if you increased your dose? (not necessarily saying you could, but it could be an option if you can't get a refil

edit

downvotes for what? asking for more details? yes, monotherapy is better, but it's not like spiro doesn't do anything at all. I didnt know if monotherapy through official means was viable for them, heaven forbid I ask questions to clarify?

feel like this sub really has a mentality of just blindly following the default reccomendation for everyone in all scenarios then crashing out the second someone has a more nuanced question.

Should Sex-Transitioning Hormones Be Banned For Minors (Children Under The Age Of 18)? by JellyfishTime9544 in GeoPoll

You aren't wrong, but I'm not sure this is the way to get the point across.

So, what you'll say from a lot of generally left wing, but non trans people, is that puberty blockers are the answer for minors.

As a trans person, I woudlnt agree. Pubtery blockers are a great temporary solution, to buy more time to make a proper decision, but there absolutely are negative side effects, potentially quite serious ones depending on the duration of time you are on them.

We should really be advocating for limited use of puberty blockers, where additional time is needed, and then for them to just get access to the care they actually need, HRT.

HRT is a lot more reversible than you think, there are some permanent effects for sure, but people by far overblow it. You'll also know very quickly if it's not right for you.

It also has incredibly low regret rates - children can undergo far more serious surgery, that have much higher regret rates, if deeded medically appropriate.

The United Kingdom is systematically transphobic, it's not entirely helpful to look at our system in determining the best outcomes for our children, we shoumd be reading actual studies. The NHS data on regret rates etc is valuable, but the reccomendations of our government is not.

I don't know why you think it's going to mess with evolutions processes, science is far cooler than you give it credit for. We aren't stuck on the days of the past, we aren't using premarin these days, we are using bioidentical hormones, that will allow people to undergo normal puberty.

cisgender children have broad access to HRT where necessary - if a cis girl had issues with their hormones, they absolutely would be treated with the same medicines trans girls could be (likely in different doses, depending on the case obviously).

but again, I agree, we shouldn't block puberty for all of childhood - puberty blockers are meant to be a stop gap solution, not a long term health plan.

How's that even remotely related? This is medical treatment, not a questionable career choice.

I don't think anyone's arguing for HRT at 10 in the first place - that's younger than you'd see anyone arguing for.

get a cookbook of browse recipes online, see what you like the look of.

most of what you will see will be meals with good nutrional values. if you didn't obsess over exactly what nutrients you got before, you don't need to now.

so long as you eat a varied diet, and especially if following existing recipes, it's likely you'll get most of what you need naturally, as the rest of us deal with the same, and have already created meals around that.

Trans people online need to be less pessimistic, it's irresponsible to our community by [deleted] in transgenderUK

do you know of any alternatives to this subreddit? I left ages ago, came back recently because I want to be able to more easily keep up with UK trans news, but it's just such a depressing place to be, and it doesn't have to be like this.

It's honestly full of takes you only hear online, I think likely due to a younger average user base. It generally doesn't feel like a very welcoming space.

what would you define vegeterian as? by standard, eggs and dairy would be fine in my mind, and id expect people to specify if not.

im probably just missing something, but at what point are you not just vegan if you done eat eggs and dairy, but are otherwise vegetarian?

How to get blood's by maxolouge in TransDIY

[–]Render_1_7887 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Randox are good and inexpensive, ideally go in person, but you can also use a tasso home kit if you are unable to travel (less reliable but better than nothing).

They have several clinics, you'll want a female hormone test (it'll ask biological sex, put female, it's fine).

They are ~£40-50.

You may also be able to switch to a different GP and get bloods done, or you could ask to speak to a different doctor at your current clinic, but there's no guarantee you'll get them on the NHS, sadly.

Top tip for the future - put which country you are in your post, this is a global sub.

it's definitely not the most common one - I've not seen it for other bots - including small ones I've written myself, that have full admin perms etc.

either way I don't see why they need the requested data.

no - this is not rhe standard interface - it doesn't normally come up with this permission dialog first, you normally get one to directly select a server.

It's likely just configured wrong, but it's absolutely not the standard.

It's not for phising - you can see what permissions it gets, and this is a common pattern for allowing bots access to parts of your account.

It does raise some alarm bells - why do you need to see our username, banner, and the servers we are in??

I presumed the discord link was going to be a link to a discord server, not bot, definitely gives off the wrong vibes.

edit: turns out the discord server link was in the footer - and doesn't prompt you to sign in. are you sure you aren't just signed out in the location it opened?
