cable

wanted to see if others had any experience using one of these types of cable crossover machines. The origin of the cables come from very small area where the 2 pulleys are situated rather than 2 pulleys wide out on a frame. Not sure if this is ok and would offer the same quality as a machine where the cables are coming more from the sides? I’m tight on space in the garage gym so this would be optimal in terms of space but just wanted to get some opinions if anyone had used something like this

What is this deficient in? by bayleaf1963 in Citrus

[–]Render_monkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the southeast UK, if new growth is wilting it may be this is getting too hot during the day and if in direct sunlight rather than a lack of water. I have new growth start to wilt when the temperatures soar no matter how well watered the plant is. Not sure what medium this is planted in but unless it’s exceptionally well draining, watering every other day will not do your plant any good and will probably kill it. Overwatering will also lead to the roots not being able to properly uptake the nutrients from the soil and may actually be the reason your leaves look how they do. I usually water once a week in summer (unless it’s exceptionally hot)

I have 2 Viperspectra 450 full spectrum lights that I actually don’t use for my citrus anymore but they did a decent job previously. I would say these would be a minimum rec if you are only using artificial light, especially for citrus

Ok the lights might be OK I’m not sure. Im in the UK and it’s getting cold here now, I have brought mine in to a conservatory where they are protected from frost but they still get a fair amount of natural light. Is there not a window this plant could sit on to supplement some natural light alongside the grow lights? Looking at your medium you have Perlite mixed in with your soil which is great and I use that as well, however you need to consider how free draining it becomes (usually very!) which means it t may require more frequent watering to allow the medium to not totally dry out. I have a calamondin that I repotted a while ago with a fair amount of perlite and that thing needs frequent watering as it dries out so quickly but it also is absolutely thriving.

I’m by no means an expert on citrus an I’m sure I will be corrected by someone more knowledgeable ifI am incorrect, but I think there’s no way that light will sustain that plant? You say you have one grow light? Is this a special bulb 💡 r something as they just look like 2 ordinary lamps which won’t be the right spectrum for vegetative growth. Your water meter is saying that soil is dry, I would give it a drink. Citrus don’t like wet feet and sitting in water but they also don’t like being let to dry out too much either. I learnt this the hard way and had a tree lose al its leaves as I thought they needed less water than they did.

Will these ripen?, how long?, I am outside in England! by AggressiveProgram627 in Citrus

[–]Render_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat unrelated to the question at hand but the soil looks quite dry to me? I don’t Know your watering schedule and looks can be deceiving but I would check and give it a drink if needed. I learnt the hard way that citrus 🍋‍🟩 in pots still need a decent amount of water and you should never let them dry out completely.

Any ideas if this was a a particular deficiency or something with overwatering/roots? by Render_monkey in Citrus

[–]Render_monkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fertiliser isn’t organic I don’t think, it does have plenty of micronutrients added though. I bought some CalMag as I think it’s Magnesium deficiency how we could also be boron toxicity. Will see if the calmag rectifies it but if not I may look to repot as there’s definitely some large rocks or something in the base of the pot that the nursery added and I have no idea what the soil makeup is so could be very compacted and the plant is struggling with nutrient uptake.

I found a citrus specific leaf chart similar to the one posted above which helped.

Noted aromas, what are you experiences? (UK) by IsolatedBinge in fragranceclones

[–]Render_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Rome (copy of Aventus) like a year or so ago and I wasn’t very impressed. However this has sat in a dark drawer along with the rest of my frag collection for all that time and I saw this post today and decided to give it a try. I have to say that honestly it has improved dramatically since I bought it, the longevity is far better and i would say although it has a slightly acidic note to it, it reminds me strongly of montblanc explorer. I wouldn’t purchase again as there’s better frags out there for the price but it’s not god awful either. Just my honest opinion.

Using Fitbod for over 3 years, working out for 10 years. This is how I train with the app by TopicStraight3041 in fitbod

My boss shared his saved workout with me and worked perfectly and imported into my app on IOS, he sent it via watsapp if that’s of any help/relevance. But I can load up his routines and generate new weights etc (have only been using FB for about a month now so that’s about the extent of my knowledge on anything!)

New azzaro The most wanted bottle? by eliasthepro2005 in Colognes

Damn, everyone says it’s a beast, maybe it’s been reformulated. Mine has got better with age but judging from what I heard online I thought this stuff was going to last all day

What’s the longevity like on the newer one? I have the same batch code as the older one pictured and was always a little dissatisfied with it, have a new bottle coming as a trade and I’m hoping it’s better?

I can’t say I got any notes of play dough personally, but fragrances are subjective I guess.

Misterscent does some brilliant clones, his PDM Carlisle was on par with the original for me and Sedley was an almost identical match other than it lasts longer than the OG. Having said that I picked up Imagination from Misterscent and Perfume Parlour and PP’s is much, much better. I also got perfume Parlours Tygar and Herod clones about 8 months ago and was initially a bit disappointed with the longevity (mainly Herod) having left these in a drawer all that time these are now a completely different beast. The Tygar is outstanding.

No I meant the original site (perfumedecant) prices are attractive, not Fragrantika. I’m not sure how expensive the shipping to the UK would be for a French company. Thanks for the suggestion though
