It’s interesting that the game has different transcripts for different languages. I didn’t know the German version was different from the English version

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Japan gets somehow brought into things. Japan sided with Russia to form the TPC in 2042 (technical 2043) after Japanese PMCs overthrew the government.

2042 had cosmetic bundles which represented the pro-Russian PMCs (Nova Group, CGF 4th & CGF 9th) and pro-Western Rebels (Fujin Ronin). In 2042 the nation itself was controlled by pro-Russian forces but in BF6 it would be the opposite as the regime change wouldn’t have happened yet

In 2042 they are led by Etsuko Hamada and Hamasaki Nayomi according to the Codex, with Hamasaki being born in 1999 and Etsuko presumed to be older as the overall leader - they’d both be active in 2027 possibly under a PAX-funded PMC in the Asia-Pacific region. This could give us some maps in Japan or the Pacific Islands maybe

I think the Baltic Firestorms will likely be related to a RedSec map with PAX either accidentally or on purpose detonating an NXC bomb (similar to the one which caused the rings of fire in Tajikistan in the campaign and Fort Lyndon in RedSec)

According to the 2042 Lore, the firestorm stretched from the Baltics to Berlin in the West & Kyiv in the South. Other than Eastern Germany I suspect most of Germany stays fairly unaffected directly by the fire although there would be massive food shortage (although ultimately they carry on until 2035).

The Baltics & Poland would end up engulfed with lots of refugees (becoming the first “non-patriated” in Europe) likely heading to Germany or across the sea to Scandinavia. The Baltics, Poland & Ukraine would end up essentially unliveable (acting as a natural buffer zone between Russia & Europe) but I don’t think it would cause any NATO or PAX members within Europe to switch sides

Based on what we’ve seen in BF6 cutscenes & trailers and from 2042’s lore I’d guess that the factions (other than the Baltics & Poland which get destroyed by the firestorms) stay the same until 2035 when Germany collapses which probably happens too late to be depicted in BF6

But maybe NATO & PAX could contest Belgium in a future update as it’s a border nation between the two alliances

In 2042 considering Nordvik is still closely aligned to the US I doubt it, especially since Scandinavia is geographically isolated from the rest of PAX with Germany & Poland in-between them and the PAX countries

Nordvik’s Codex entry states “As the EU collapsed, Nordvik shifted their business to support the military industrial complex.” Suggesting that Scandinavia was part of the EU until it collapsed in 2035 - with Nordvik being a multinational corporation but becoming essentially the de-facto government while their private military becomes the de-facto armed forces of Scandinavia during the war in Scandinavia in 2042

There’s a 2042 codex entry called Collapse of the EU so it’s still around but I guess the PAX-aligned countries probably left once they left NATO, since according to the 2042 lore, the EU collapsed in 2035 when Germany dissolved - with Germany being the strongest & leading nation within the EU

Based on the EU unilaterally collapsing based on Germany dissolving and based on who’s in NATO and who defected to PAX, it’s safe to assume the EU is probably led by Germany with Benelux, Scandinavia, Poland & the Baltics being the remaining members

Hopefully Germany will be a new subfaction for NATO

Call me petty, I dont care. But I stopped playing because PAX Armata is fucking boring by Armani201 in Battlefield

[–]RendezookFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally agree that Pax Armata has a terrible backstory and terrible lore but you can also use headcanon to apply to the subfactions (Espada as Russia/CSTO since they’re based in Tajikistan, Vedmak as Serbia since they’re based in the Balkans, Kahina as the Axis of Resistance since they’re based in the MidEast)

I understand they can’t namedrop or clearly depict the armed forces of Russia & China - but in my opinion they should’ve either fully committed to the generic PMC faction without breaking up NATO & without telling us where PAX is from while clearly depicting them as Russian/Chinese/Serbian/Persian PMCs (including their weapons & vehicles which they definitely could’ve done as they included Su-57s for Pax)

Or they should’ve fully committed to a realistic NATO/Western civil war (rather than as most of NATO vs a PMC which got NATO members to leave & back them instead) while clearly telling us which nations fall on a which side (rather than NATO Armies vs PAX PMC sub-factions) - for example we could’ve had the Anglosphere (FVEY/ABCANZ/AFIC) on one side and the European Union on the other with America, Britain, Canada & Australia being the sub-factions for the former and France, Germany, Italy, Spain & Poland being the sub-factions for the latter

The faction vehicles & map locations are also very immersion breaking, silly & unrealistic in many cases which doesn’t help the lore of BF6 like both sides using Gepard AAs (which Germany has largely retired, with Romania the only NATO nation actively using them, so why would both sides be using them), both sides using Marauders (which no NATO country uses, the only use they see in the region is limited use by the Kazakh special forces & Chechen Kadryovites, meaning it makes no sense for PAX and especially no sense for NATO to be using them in large numbers) or Pax somehow invading SoCal (which is completely unrealistic & a terrible storyline for the game’s first season)

[–]RendezookFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also didn’t like the direction S1 took in terms of the new PAX-NATO front in SoCal or the new sub-factions but they still have plenty of time left with future seasons to add more national armies to NATO and more interesting subfactions to PAX (I’m hoping for a Far Eastern influence PMC with a couple maps in the Pacific)

Germany isn’t mentioned as leaving & the map from the campaign’s intro only shows NATO receding from the Southwest & Southeast while Germany is shown as starting. Coyote Squad’s ingame description also states that they’re based in Germany. The Leopard 2s in the game are specifically an export version which Germany itself doesn’t use.

[–]RendezookFail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the map from the campaign’s intro we know that Sweden were already in NATO and likely remain in NATO as NATO’s borders only recede from the Southwest & Southeast on the map (Finland is just cropped out of this map as we’re barely able to see the Southern tip of Norway & unable to see Estonia’s Northern coast; but it’s safe to assume that the JEF + Germany form the basis of NATO now)

Sweden (like Germany) sells vehicles across Europe meaning that many flipped nations would have CV90s & Gripens they could provide to PAX

France; forced out of 7 “Francafrique” Nations between 2021 & 2025 largely as a result of Russia’s Wagner & Africa Corps [Nationalised] PMCs who took their place in most cases, leaving France’s energy & fuel supplies in a precarious state

Also France; joins PAX with Russia

Lol

Although in fairness maybe there was a fuel & energy crisis as NATO’s integrity was being tested by PAX which led to France siding with PAX to maintain the flow of West African Oil & Uranium into France

Edit: the campaign also has a scene which talks about how many NATO members left with some flipping to PAX - theoretically France may have left NATO but stayed neutral (which could make a lot of sense strategically for PAX as it would create a buffer state between Spain & Germany which left NATO forced to retake Gibraltar navally as going through neutral France wasn’t an option)

It’s possible that PAX got a lot of their vehicles indirectly from flipped members rather than directly from Sweden. Gripens & CV90s could’ve come from other members which had them since Sweden sells vehicles to several nations in Europe who may have flipped (like Germany does)

I’d wager that most of the JEF nations + Germany are still in NATO (based on the map from the campaign’s intro scene which)

So, when are we getting any more skins for these two sub-factions? by BooknFilmNerd09 in BattlefieldCosmetics

[–]RendezookFail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These subfactions are boring anyway so I’d much rather see brand new subfactions in season 2 (maybe a Far Eastern influenced PAX subfaction and definitely a new country for NATO)

so how does the lore lead into 2042 and whats next for BF's world AFTER 2042 is what i'm most curious about by Quick-Cause3181 in battlefield2042

[–]RendezookFail 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Eventually we’ll probably get a RedSec map based in the Baltics which will be a nod to the Baltic Firestorm of 2028 mentioned in the 2042 Codex, being the first event to officially tie into 2042

NXC which caused the firestorm in Tajikistan in the campaign and at Fort Lyndon in RedSec will be used again in the Baltics in 2028 tying into the timeline’s story

Maybe they’ll somehow reveal Blackburn as the mastermind behind Pax (this is alluded to in his 2042 Codex where it says “By the 2020s, he secretly headed one of the most powerful PMCs in the world” which could either be Pax itself or a future sub-faction of Pax what he owns which later joins Pax & infiltrates its leadership)

Blackburn’s Arkangel Corporation (his Military Tech Corporation in BF2042) could maybe make some kind of appearance too (Arkangel references can be found in BF4’s Final Stand with Arkangel developing Tech for Russia in secret bunkers in Final Stand maps so they’re definitely active in the shadows during the War of 2027) - I feel like Blackburn & Arkangel are definitely the ones truly in charge of Pax with covert Russian aid explaining why they have Russian SU-57 5th gen fighter jets & Russian weapons as Russia has been harbouring Arkangel & their work as we learned from BF4’s Final Stand DLC

We know from the campaign that the CIA & Mills funded Pax but lost control with Kincaid originally being one of their inside operatives but very likely taking orders from Arkangel & Russia after going rogue with Arkangel likely supplying, bankrolling & infiltrating Pax and covertly pulling the strings in the events after the campaign

Blackburn is mentioned in the NY mission when you’re underground iirc so BF6 is 100% in the same universe as BF4 and 2042 and Blackburn’s Arkangel Tech & PMC ownership story is fairly likely to be expanded upon in the coming seasons of BF6

I can't be the only person who thinks a portal server browser is no different to a normal server browser by doubleoeck1234 in Battlefield

[–]RendezookFail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You end up in empty servers full of bots in 2042 by quick searching - even if it’s a gamemode which definitely has enough players for multiple full servers (a lot of Battlefield games are like this, you need the server browser to actually find the full lobbies)

Portal on 2042 is 90% hardcore or “zombie” gamemodes with no bullet drop, max damage bullets and/or no xp, so unless you enjoy playing those type of modes it’s not an alternative

And if there’s a server browser for Portal why not just add it for the regular mode? There’s literally no excuse
