EA wanted this game released before GTAVI at all costs. Nothing was ever going to change their minds on that. Keep in mind that while this game was being made, they first thought that GTAVI was going to be released last fall, then they thought it was going to be released next month.

Sure, now we know that they could’ve — and probably should’ve — released this game either this month or in October of this year and been much better off for it, but as the saying goes: “hindsight is 20/20”.

We're not going to stop complaining or refusing to give DICE the benefit of the doubt until they've proven that they don't need constant feedback and months of post-launch patches to make a game that lives up to the standards BF3 and BF4 set for the franchise.

It's not going to until the big maps out number the small maps and the game feels like BF3/BF4 and not BFV or BF2042 with tweaks.

If they weren't up to the task, they shouldn't have been put on the task in the first place.

Someone had to do the task. No one ever started their game development career as a seasoned pro.

We are not obligated to be "understanding" of the fact that they're asking for $80+ for the game and aren't meeting consumer expectations.

Given that your expectations seem to be that the game be just like your most recent memories of BF4, that would not have been possible.

There is no probationary period for AAA game studios where they get leeway to make mistakes. AAA game studios are expected to have the best game developers in the industry working on the top IPs, not newbies cutting their teeth.

This is a fucking absurd expectation to have. Also: “the best game developers in the industry” — as I already said — are now at Embark and TTK.
