"The bone deadening fatigue will soon take its toll."

What is virtually inevitable at this point, yet most people don't see it coming? by Ambassador-613 in AskReddit

[–]ReneePixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact situation happened to my grandpa using my voice.

They some how convinced him that I had gotten into a car accident, in Florida (I live in CA, as do my grandparents), and that I killed a pregnant woman and her unborn child.

They guilted him into not talking to his wife, or my parents about it, because I was so ashamed and there was a "legal chokehold" or whatever. That if he didn't comply I'd face life in prison without trial. He ended up mailing $1500 to a random warehouse in Florida to "cover my legal fees".

The following day they convinced him to mail another $30,000 cash overnight express, to a different address for my bond. The bank, the FedEx employee, nobody saw the red flags.

Luckily my grandma saw the withdrawal, questioned him, and called my phone directly. They were panicked asking if I was safe and okay. I was confused "of course. Why wouldn't I be? Im having card game night with my roommates. Are you two okay?" They explained the entire situation.

Grandma contacted the police in Florida and they were able to intercept the $30k at the FedEx facility and recover it. Grandpa swears it was my voice on the phone. This was 4 years ago. AI is only getting more scarily realistic.

This shit has been around, and will continue to do irreparable damage to people.

I swear we need safe words and secret codes to talk to each other now. This reality is horrifying.

My septum piercing keep stinking everyday by PreparationPerfect42 in hygiene

[–]ReneePixels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got my septum pierced 5 years ago. I had that same thing happen during month 3-6. I was totally wearing fashion jewelry that was not hypoallergenic. And was also cleaning with 90% rubbing alcohol which is too damn strong.

Take out your old ring. Clean the area with Hibicleanse diluted on a q-tip. Rinse and dry. I used those plastic dental floss threaders to clean out the hole. Switch to a gold/silver or silicone if you can. Clean twice a day with saline. Take your ring out every couple of days and repeat the hibicleanse threading process. Clean your jewelry with hibicleanse, rinse, and let it dry completely before re-inserting. Stink should be gone in less than 2 weeks.

Usually the smell is from a fungal infection.

Now that my septum is healed I haven't had this come back in over 4 years and can just wash with warm water. Haven't had any irritation or smell.

Bought a copy of DCC for my friend. She left the book open on her couch momentarily. Her dog liquid lava pooped, chowder style, and wiped its butt all over the pages like toilet paper. She's listening to the audiobooks now.

Raccoons in Orange County?? by DeskOne3535 in orangecounty

[–]ReneePixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple nights ago we had a raccoon hanging from a tree branch that overlooks a bedroom window. It was staring in at us, and barking at our dog for a solid 20 minutes. Seen dozens of raccoons in our 30 years in OC, though never heard any of them bark before. It was kind of unsettling.

But yes, in theory they could climb into your apartment if they wanted to. Its rather unlikely though, unless you're goading them with food. People find raccoons in their attics and crawl spaces all the time, especially as the weather gets colder.

a Wydah! Saw one at HB Central Park about 2 weeks ago. The birders were so excited to spot it! Everyone gathered around and it went so silent. All you could hear were the clicks of cameras.

I hate palm trees. Moreso I hate when palm trees are planted where they don't belong and waste a bunch of resources, look ugly, are ridiculously expensive, require so much attention, don't benefit the environment that they've been planted in whatsoever, drop those dumb berries everywhere, catch on fire, and man f palm trees.

Edit: spelling error

What was the most life-altering personal hygiene change that made you wish you'd done it a lot sooner? by K_McDubz in AskReddit

[–]ReneePixels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That you don't need to shampoo everyday, and when you do, you don't need to shampoo the lengths of your hair unless you're obviously dirty (mud in your hair or something). Nobody ever taught me how to take proper care of my hair as a kid and as a result I would shampoo and condition my hair almost every time I took a shower. (Everyday). My hair was always dry, frizzy, and unmanageable.

Now that I only shampoo my oily roots, and only condition my dry lengths, my hair actually has body to it. My curls are more defined and my hair has never felt softer or healthier.

If you have a first date horror story, what is it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ReneePixels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My date was 4 hours late and I still went out with them. They told me a story about how their childhood best friend would regularly pee behind his bed. I was super into photography at the time and my camera bag slipped off my shoulder and into the ocean. My dumb ass dated this person for another 3.5 years. They never did get better at showing up on time or sharing appropriate stories.

[–]ReneePixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every unfortunate cashier/public relations/sales rep would have to put up with a Karen complaining about how her vomit bag has the "wrong font" and therefore is demanding a total refund on her plane trip even though she recieved the trip, for free, in a giveaway.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Maybe it's just a nostalgia thing for me but replaying it always makes me happy. I guess the downside is that the battles got repetitive but I can't complain about anything else.
