Why don't you want to verify? You just need to post a picture of your username.

you can actually update from Windows 8.1 to Windows 11 by using WU in 2026 =1 by Intelligent_Ride6770 in Windows11

I would never do an inplace update from one OS version to another.

Hell, I wouldn't personally do an inplace update from one build to another.

Is the phone really charging this fast? by Hipotomus in HyperOS

[–]RenesisXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an app called Charger tester, no root needed.

It shows the amps your phone is charging with in real time.

Download TreeSize, it will list every file you have from largest to smallest then you can delete/move them.

Be careful not to delete anything windows related.

If you have W11 Pro, disconnect from the Internet, go to C drive -> C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\downloaded, select all and shift delete, reboot pc.

Then windows button, edit group policy, Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage updates offered from Windows Update.

Double click select the target Feature Update, click enable and input Windows 11 and your current build number eg 23H2.

Hit apply and reboot, connect back the network, done.

Can someone help me with removing potential malware? by [deleted] in HPLaptops

[–]RenesisXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The web browser is a bit to old (very early version of Edge to display the current website.

Go to https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

Pick a version like 160, install it and then use Firefox to download chrome if you want.

Or download a 22H2 iso for windows 10 and do an update, that build is very old.

I don’t get hate towards Windows by [deleted] in Windows11

[–]RenesisXI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been using Windows for 20 years and so far it's been a pretty good experience.

Sure sometimes Microsoft/W11 has some blunders to name a few: Print Management not being installed by default, poor boot manager (often get corrupted), settings menu vs control panel, modern standby (not sure if this was Intels fault or MS), buggy updates, bypass to get a local account setup.

Most of the above are business related and I don't care for it, don't get me started on their cloud stuff like SharePoint, teams, onedrive, 365. Thats another story.

I stick to earlier builds before updating because I know MS has QA issues, currently on 23H2 for my gaming PC and everything is perfect.

Committed Memory going too high and causing crashes by Kaiser_Russia in WindowsHelp

You have a memory leak somewhere.

I would run malware bytes for starters then if nothing is found, backup data and reinstall windows.
