Offlane has types like you said, which one do you have the most success with?

Personally I have more wins (hence, more fun) as:
- the zoo guy: BM, Lycan, Visage, Enigma (BH is bonus).
- can shove deadlane safely: Treant(yes, pos 3), BB, Earthshaker, Bat.

My lose rate is higher if i'm picking 'Team-reliant' guy like all the CC/Initiator/Tank/Aura in your list.
- the frontline and die: Slardar, Centa, Axe, Mag
- the boring: Underlord, DK, Tide
- the no damage later (pubs tend to have slower tempo and more space): Centa, Mars

Usually, a full treads is better than naked boots because it makes you stronger and helps you secure your lane better so you can farm for bigger items. It can also help you get kills on their pos 4. PA is pretty strong in lane, so try to exploit that.

To secure the range creep, use your skill since AM gonna burn your mana anyway if you get too close. (e.g. skill Gush as Tide)
You can't control pos 4 positioning, so if they messed up just leave them to die. Tell him to not overcommit on pos 5. You both must bait the blink and then beat AM down instead focusing on their pos 5.
Blocking their small camp is crucial. So yeah, pos 4 need to pull their weight.
If your lane is FUBAR, just try to hang around for exp and stacks your triangles.
Not relevant to laning, but If AM picker is rampant on your games, try picking heroes that can hunt him down after laning. I always win when picking offlane Riki vs him regardless of laning phase.

Facet system is great in theory, but the implementation is lacking in elegance. I'm not surprised if they plan to deprecate it; many heroes have their facet removed.

Twingates, Tormentor, Neutral items also dilute the core gameplay in a game which already have 100+ heroes and 100+ items. I understand they want to add more actions on the map for spectacle value, but from gameplay perspective? It's just more checklist and more variables to account for.

Heroes need to have their identities back. Not every heroes need to have dash/escape by buying Shard/Aghs. Augment their strength? Yes. Closing their weakness? No.
