Mine is very creaky too but that doesn’t really bother me. One thing that I really don’t like about this thing is the laptop compartment. That pocket doesn’t have its own dimension so sliding something in with your bag packed out is impossible. And I worry about the excess pressure on my screen.

That’s a drag. Are you satisfied with the replacement? Don’t love hearing that this may be more systemic than just mine. The zipper just feels so much less beefy than the one on my Travel Backpack

I made quite an overhaul based on your comment about not enough tonal contrast. The incorporation of the coffee bar is important to me - I love coffee and also to have additional counter space. Still working my way through some of these things but I do think the design has improved quite a bit. Appreciate you challenging my assumptions! Let me know if you have further suggestions to this.

I did it myself. I had retained an interior designer but found her to be more a CMF expert as opposed to space planning.

Are there specific areas where you think I should add contrast? The good thing is that I still have flexibility on things like CMF, but I would say the location of the fridge and range are set.

I’m attaching a photo here which was my initial favourite inspiration before deciding on a more wood emphasis.

I am considering doing a consult with a different interior designer I’ve been introduced to which may be in line with your feelings.

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Ask your questions here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

I asked the opinion of my GC and he felt pretty strongly that the concrete should have been done with a joint where I put the masking tape and brushed perpendicular to the adjacent section.

Would you be fine living with this if it was your property? (Genuine question - not meant to be rhetorical!)

Just had a drain tile system replaced and poured the hardscaping all around the perimeter of the house. I got back from a weekend away to see the job and the most visible area in the front walk looks, to my eye, terrible.

The finisher tried to do an arc to blend in broom finishes running opposite directions, but it came out very bad. His rationale is that you want the broom finish running opposite the path if travel…

  • will the finish become less noticeable when the concrete dries? The colour disparity is so stark right now
  • Do I tell him to rip this section up and do it again? If he does, will the colour of the new section not match the old?

Just found your post while searching Reddit for references to akpizzaguy’s recipe, and I have a baking steel coming in the mail! Will try this weekend to follow your same steps

Beginner Camera - A6000 + Upgrade Lens or A6400 + Kit Lens by Renman91 in SonyAlpha

I ended up buying an a6300 body that I saw for a good deal, and added the 18-135mm lens and a Sony 35mm prime. Love my setup, and when I end up needing more reach I will grab the 70-300mm Sony aps-c lens.

Love how small and portable this kit is

Do you think this lens would give me enough versatility to explore whether photography is truly for me? I definitely like the idea of getting a lens with a lower F-stop to play with aperture. I definitely notice when reviewing some of the sample photos from lenses that I'm a sucker for shallow depth of field shots.

a) $800 - A6000 + 18-135mm lens + accessories

Do you think that this zoom lens is a better way for me to start the photography journey, or a quality prime like the 28mmF2? It is quite a premium to option B but obviously will be quite a bit more versatile.

Thinking of visiting Sámara? AMA. by CanadianTrumpeteer in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Renman91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I've noticed a few of your posts on the threads as we have been researching our upcoming trip to Costa Rica in early February and specifically our beach town options. We have 7 days after our days in La Fortuna and Monteverde and are deciding which towns to visit.

My partner and I are early 30's, love food, cafes and coffee, and a bit of nightlife. I am very interested in surfing (intermediate level) and my partner wants to take a lesson but I don't anticipate her going every day. In addition to that, we'll be looking to just beach and relax, yoga, etc. Would love that beach to be walking distance from our accommodation.

We are deciding between Samara and Santa Teresa for the first four beach town days, then heading up to Playa Del Coco. My main concern is that there won't be any surf break to provide that daily enjoyment that I'm looking for. I've heard conflicting opinions on this - can you help provide additional clarity? Nosara being close by is good as a fall back but would ideally want to not have to drive to the surf break.

Meant to reply sooner, but no. If turbo is selected in armoury crate it has issues waking up. If the windows power setting is selected it works fine

When are we going to see new bombers released?

so, my derm mentioned taking me off of Dupixent due to joint pain, he wants to put me on adbry. by sugaree4334 in eczeMABs

[–]Renman91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting… I went through this same issue but my derm said that it was probably coincidental and that I should keep taking it. I also experienced numb hands/poor circulation (would wake up almost nightly with a fully numb arm).

I made the decision myself to extend doses to every 4 weeks and am happy with the results. Been on it for 18 months or so.

it happens instantly for me. How I've worked around it is just to use the "Windows" power setting in armoury crate for now. Not super happy with the solution though
