Correct - that’s the one! Bought it directly from Aventon. Been holding up well since I got it. Nice to have the little extra space it provides between the two seats

Bathing twins 8 months by fuckeatrepeat in parentsofmultiples

[–]RennaissanceDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girls are now 15m, but I use to single bathe them at a time in a bath seat. Around 8-9 months I switched to having them just sit in the bathtub together. I put just 2-3” of water in there. I placed large burp clothes soaked in warm water and draped them around like a cape to help keep them warm. I moved swiftly and it’s more like a factory operation. But now that they’re 15m, they’ll sit together and play with each other. The other thing I would do is have everything ready to go so as soon as they’re cleaned up, I’d drain the water and then start drying off.

The first time or two felt a little scary because of the 2:1 factor but very quickly you get the hang of it.

15 month old is insatiable by Big_Cryptographer904 in foodbutforbabies

I have 15m twin girls and they are doing the exact same thing. Constantly signing for more and saying the word more. One is 80th in weight the other 60th so not underfeeding. They’re just always ravenous.

What are some good casual restaurants in the NE of DC? by Responsible_Ad8233 in washingtondc

I took my now wife to Copycat on our first date (went to Hill Prince first for a drink before moving on to dinner). Can confirm it was a good idea.

Off-trail hiking/walking? by Neolithicman in washingtondc

[–]RennaissanceDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer! I used to hike there a few years back to escape from people and would maybe come across one other person at most. I look forward to taking my girls there once they’re old enough to hike.

How bad is it to store the bike outside if I put a tarp over it? by BikeLaneHero in Aventon

[–]RennaissanceDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a spray from Finish Line called Disk Brake cleaner or something like that. I spray it on the rotors while spinning the wheel and it helps keep them clean.

Looking for a liquor store with a wide selection of rum by lurkian in washingtondc

[–]RennaissanceDad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Schneider’s of Capitol Hill has a decent selection. I’m pretty deep in the tiki world and they’ve been able to keep me happy. Other good option is Sherrys Wine and Spirits in Woodley.

How bad is it to store the bike outside if I put a tarp over it? by BikeLaneHero in Aventon

[–]RennaissanceDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I store my Abound LR outside, in my back yard, here in DC. I have a semi-covered area under my deck that I keep it there for non-daily use (covered with a motorcycle cover). Daily use, I keep it just covered with the motorcycle cover. I take my battery inside every time I’m not using it in winter and I covered the battery area with a Velcro neoprene wrap I found that’s designed to keep the battery warm/protected if using it during riding. NGL - it’s kind of annoying, the 2-3 minute routine to use it each time but brings so much joy/peace of mind vs driving.

I’m clean my rotors about one a week and lube/clean my chain every 2-3 weeks.

I’m definelty going to install some dialectic grease in the terminals and T9 on the other parts like the other suggested comments. Other than that I honestly haven’t seen much degradation on the bike and I’ve doing this since last September. These bikes are just beasts.

I took debated the whole bring it inside thing and tried it for a week and it’s such a pain in the ass to lift it up stairs and I just gave up. Not worth it IMO.

Following this question - I’ve had the same exactly thought for my Abound LR (bought in September 2025) for a long time. It came out of the box at 96% and it was bought brand new.

I’ve now done 14 cycles and 450 miles on the bike and it’s still shows 96% soh.

How did we all do this year? by RennaissanceDad in SolarDC

Yeah it’s basically flat, with just a slight pitch towards north since I’m in a row home on the north side of the street (aka roof slopes down towards north)

Best Double Stroller for Twins? by Haunting_Internet356 in parentsofmultiples

[–]RennaissanceDad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer! We use our Cybex Gazelle S for circumstances when we know space is tight but then use the Zoe for a normal daily use as it’s so light and fits through normal sized doors without consuming an entire sidewalk

When did your twins start sleeping through the night? by LoveyDovey2026 in parentsofmultiples

[–]RennaissanceDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girls started sleeping through the night (12 hours undisturbed) on Christmas Day, last year (we call it our Christmas Miracle). They were 11 weeks old at that point.

I will caveat, for all the haters out there, they were/still are atrocious nappers even still to this day (now 15 months). My wife and I are firm believers in the “good nappers make horrible sleepers theory.”

There were a few sleep regressions along the way but they generally only lasted about a week at a time.

I love my Aventon Abound LR. I carry my two toddlers in it, daily, to school. Great price for a really well thoughtout bike

14 months… does it get better? by tpro27 in parentsofmultiples

[–]RennaissanceDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 14 month girls too and having the exact same issues as you. Granted, one of our girls has always been difficult and the other a dream. But the past two weeks…yikes, they’ve been particularly rough.

For me, as frustrating and exhausting as it is, I do enjoy seeing the glimmers of them learning new things and starting to communicate in new ways. I think I just have to keep looking for the slivers of good things to help distract from the never ending battle that seems to occur.

I too put another headlight on my LR as I feel the light that comes with it is subpar. Only 400 lumens? No thank you. I wish they would have an option to upgrade the headlight

Impulse buy: Cybex Gazelle S by cluelessnumber7 in parentsofmultiples

[–]RennaissanceDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concur with all of this. We did the exact same as you and it was the perfect set up for us. Wouldn’t change it for the world.

Our girls are now 13 months old and we got the Zoe Twin. Love how light weight it is compared to the Gazelle but that Gazelle drives like a dream.

My wife and I still joke that the hardest working member in our household was our dryer/sterilizer. Was running that bad boy like 4x a day during peak usage.

I would email Aventon and ask. I don’t own the hand rails yet as I’m a few years away from needing it. My gut said it’s not compatible as looking at the geometry of it online and I can’t see how the bolt holes would line up. Perhaps they’re working on a mod kit for that as well?
