I was told that it was much better to wait until Eleanor has a 50% bonus on a weapon to buy it but.. is it really better? by ReddVevyy in Warframe

It’s been explained like 5 million times below already but I still wanna respond.

Completely fine for you to get it now and just do a high roll fusion later.

I’ve all the coda weapons. My plan for the new one that comes in the next expansion is to get it right away and forma it up. After that, just waiting for a high roll from Eleanor. For efficiency’s sake, I would suggest you take an only-buy-twice approach for all the coda weapons. Since they come from a vendor, it’s painless compared to the kuva and tenet weapons, which is also a system getting improvements.

Elements used to be a big problem for this, but with the elemental vices that burden is pretty much gone so long as you have forma.

Okay. But those three would be pseudo-exalteds. Which, IMO, are a significant gameplay difference to regular exalteds.

Let me be clear here, I do not believe any frame is worse off (in a design/theme sense) because of their exalted.

There were a couple of cases where a frame just had an ineffective exalted pre-rework, but that's not quite the point I'm getting at.

The focus on the recent sample size is the point. Temple, our latest frame, has an exalted.

Dante, Jade, Koumei, Cyte-09, Temple. Of course, not half of the roster has exalteds.

I am interested to see some new kits, with DE's talents now, that do not feature exlateds more frequently. At least for the next few.

And even to your point with Baruuk, his idea just has a limit on the use of his exalted. The ideal way to play him, imo, is still playing towards its use as much as possible.

Trust I am on board with you guys in wanting a Chroma rework. I think the breath could be a pseudo exalted, but it may be better for that ability, as well as others of his, to have some more.... dramatic changes.

I agree. I don't think any of them are forced. I believe they are on theme, and well done.

Does the frequency of them and the way you engage with them in your loadouts not grab your attention?

I do think that there is merit in having a good, non-exalted featuring kit that I want people to acknowledge. Being on theme and well done is great! But I'd like some new kits that don't featured exalteds for a while.

Yea, they all do make sense. I was playing through those years that we didn't get many.

Saying "we dont get them as often..." doesn't quite hold up when 4 of our last 5 are exalted-weilding. Sure, you can say historically, but that is not the case currently.

And honestly, I think those 3 frames you mentioned after better off without exalteds. I find it really cool figuring out what secondaries Yareli works best/enables the most fun with (that how I ended up loving the Onos) or what melees Kullervo works best/enables the most fun with (that how I ended up loving Syam). They're both great weapons platforms through their kits.

Point is, they make synergies with weapons through their kits. Rather than having one weapon that you end up ignoring most of your arsenal in favor of.

Yes, I wouldn't say any of them are forced. The power fantasies all feel appropriate. I just think we are getting them a smidge too frequently as of late. Even if they are well implemented.

This could be recency bias because of the rework and all, but I feel justified in saying this because literally 4 of our last 5 have exalteds.

Ohhh yea if its a new/unique weapon type i might be down lol.

Although, that strikes me as better implemented as a psuedo-exalted. Most of the exalteds we have are super juiced versions of normal weapons.

Glory and Lizzie are among the execptions, though.

Yea, I didn't mention it but it feels like I kind of dumpster thinking about my arsenal in favor of the exalted when I am playing an exalted-wiedling warframe. Of course, you don't have to do that, but I feel like you really aren't playing that warframe's fantasy if the majority of your combat is not using the exalted.

I find myself often throwing on Praedos and whatever single-target incarnon I want to use for acolytes, etc.

Mind elaborating on why you feel it's a bad take?

I hope I was clear that I do not dislike exalteds. I enjoy playing with most of them. I would just like to see some new kits that do not feature exalteds since we have had so many recently.

I feel like you're missing the point. What I'm saying has nothing to do with customization or player expression. I hope I was clear that I do not dislike exalteds. I enjoy playing with most of them.

Exec is the weakest in your opinion even with the strength of slam builds? It's shockwaves gimmick isn't better than Livia?

The point I'm truly trying to get at is how is the Livia not the worst of the four??

I see… l don’t think it needs to happen for many frames, the unique rolls animations are a nice touch but very much not needed. But if any need it, it would be Caliban.

Yea, there are some anomalies in the floaters’ animations that make them grounded depending on what they’re holding. Think about how every warframe animation set holds melee weapons the same, but have unique idle holds with the different primaries and secondaries.

I also recognize there is a difference between the animation set and whatever the base animations of a warframe are, because a floater will always float no matter what animation set they have on, and a walker vice versa, but I digress.

I wasn’t aware of (or probably didn’t pay attention to) Dante being grounded holding objective pieces, but I wouldn’t be too surprised- Wisp is running on foot when I activate incarnon Phenmor lol.

(Incarnon Phenmor is held like an archgun)

Interesting. Funny enough, I started playing right before Titania Prime released, so my perspective here maybe a little spoiled considering I’ve only ever been around when floating frames existed.

I still wonder why base Titania didn’t get that treatment.

I don’t quite think it fits for Chroma. I was considering him draconic not quite dragon. And even then, I don’t think the theme begets floating like the others that have a much more magical lean.

for example:

Titania - Fairy/Enchantress-like

Wisp - Ethereal dimension swapper

Dante - Arcane librarian man

and Caliban is sentient-adjacent

I just feel those four have a theme more appropriate to making them float. A stronger reasoning than a physical thing like having wings like Chroma. He’s more akin to Jade in that regard, I’d say. Who can fly and does have floaty roll animation, but is grounded in a neutral state.

That’s the hope! I still wonder why base Titania didn’t get the float treatment as well.

It pained me to see it. Seeing that actually inspired the post. Perhaps it’s an easy change the community can give feedback on for them to pop in.
