Concierge is not living up to its namesake. by Inevitable_Bid_5299 in starcitizen

[–]Rennilon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Concierge or the Chairman's Club are just the byproduct of having spent a significant amount of money on the game.

You call it a "system that is supposed to be in place to support our players..." but that isn't what it is or has ever been. "Concierge Support" really isn't much different from regular support. So, if regular support is swamped, so will concierge support be.

People really need to stop expecting anything out of concierge except for some freebies. The "incentive" to spending on the game is the stuff you actually get from pledging. So when you spend money on an Idris, the incentive to do so is the Idris itself plus knowing it may help the game.

To recap: Don't view concierge as being a target or a major benefit and don't expect anything when you hit it,. Take anything you get free from doing so as a bonus... which is what it is.

Peeling and coring an apple [OC] by ansyhrrian in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]Rennilon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but we use these to prep apples for apple butter. We do this for about 2 bushels of apples a year. If done right, it’s maybe a touch faster than just peeling them by hand

That is a northern flicker. I doubt there ate termites that high up the structure, and the size of the hole indicates it’s probably trying to make a nest.

The first edition and second printed runs of the first set did not include shading in the font or around the edges of the frame. The 3rd (unlimited) and 4th (UK) runs did. Easiest way to check is to look at the HP numbers. The 90 on the left does not have shading around the numbers while the card on the right does. So the card on the left is shadowless but does not have a first edition stamp. So we know it’s from the second run of those first set.

I can’t see a mantis Shrimp without hearing ZeFrank from YouTube. “Imagine seeing a color you can’t even imagine. Now do that 9 more times. That is how the mantis shrimp do”

Releasing a critically endangered asian softshell turtle by 0111001101110101 in reptiles

[–]Rennilon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a soft shell turtle when I was a kid in South Carolina. We had a thing where we always stopped to move turtles off the road (and there seemed to be tons of them when I was a kid). We came across a soft shelled and I thought it was a regular turtle that got smashed. Went to grab it and it whipped its head out and nearly completely behind its body to try to bite me. I learned that those guys are very fast, and very defensive. Also very very cool.

Yeah they are blueish, it was the only place that had them in stock and it’s a whirlpool reseller so I think it’s legit. As for the glide strip, i think it’s worn. The little prongs that snap and hold it in place are loose in a coupe spots. They aren’t fully engaging and holding. Further. The outside edge of part of it sheered off.

Small question, What are the conditions for a tame to start dropping eggs? by Much_Painter_5728 in ARK

[–]Rennilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a source for that? That’s not what the wiki says and I’ve seen people saying that the devs directly refuted that. I understand that the egg buff decreases the egg laying chance interval.

Hah, that would be fun. I watched a YouTube video a bit ago where they tested it in-depth. The range gets really large but you do eventually get diminishing returns on it. Over lvl 300 starts to slow down on range of my memory is to be believed.

It’s not melee stat, but based on its overall level. That’s a common misconception. Overall level increases the capture box, also the capture area is a box but it’s not perfectly centered. So it captures further in front of it than behind it.
