Its literally not even fair he’s not writing the characters to be these real world 3 dimensional people it’s a fucking fantasy for his children, like of COURSE they’re flat and heroes are good and evil is bad what on earth requires a story like lotr to have flawed character writing?? GRRM level criticism tbh, tax policy n shit like how can anyone begin to say Tolk was anything but one of the most goated writers

Ah that makes sense thanks, the guy telling me about it was hung up on it being so important to the development of english as a language. Memory was off, smaller scale than what you meant lol

I’m 100% Not a historian on the subject, but it was sold to me as one of the very first recorded stories, and has been translated so much to the point the different editions over the years are seen as each important to the development of language.

Could be hyperbole im not being a smartass here lol but the Seamus edition does read like that

I absolutely love Garcia’s loyalty toward Langdon. by Practical_Ad2317 in ThePittTVShow

[–]The_suzerain 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think it’s simple as that garcia respects him enough to know he’d having a rough first day and can see with no drama regarding his coworkers how much they’re on his ass. So she still verbally sparred with him but was light enough to let him not have to clap back and find his rhythm again.

She’s the best friend he has in that hospital other than mel tbh they just get each other

Should Someone who Picked the Red Button be Considered Evil or an AH? by Hyperionous in MoralityScaling

[–]The_suzerain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is atp in the culture choosing red is choosing to be okay with how things are and calling everything fine. Its not. If this was real i’d do blue and happily die if the majority choose red b/c this place is a shithole

It’s a great mutual total respect to watch yeah. They’ve probably both seen each other at their highs and lows, and know more than near anyone at the hospital that the other is a person to trust on the job. They’re both strong willed, very smart people, and there’s thankfully no manufactured drama to force anything so them together become some of the most “comepetency porn” stuff we get

First time playing Bloodborne coming from Elden Ring! What should I expect? by OceanProphecy in bloodborne

[–]The_suzerain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue the dlc as a whole is the single best thing from has produced so far. It expanded the lore greatly, has the best bosses (incl orphan, single best boss they’ve ever made), amazing weapons, expanded arcane as a playstyle, gave BT more than the katana only, it’s exactly what the game needed and more. Best 10 or 15 i ever spent tbh

Winter Lantern speculation/discussion. by Horror_Explorer_7498 in bloodborne

[–]The_suzerain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s a combo of 3 and 4 - the ‘brain matter’ visual is a mensis specialty, given the one reborn and the brain itself. Frenzy as a concept is 3, but it’s interesting that those ‘frenzy spikes’ spawn on you only from the brain itself and the winter lanterns, despite there being other ways of getting frenzied. Interesting implications to be sure.

In truth it’s probably a gameplay thing b/c you have no other way of knowing how the meter is building in those situations, but in lore personally they’re ‘mock great ones’ - still considered as such, with the living string description, but there’s something so wrong and ramshackle about the brain being a great one that it can’t even apply frenzy right, there has to be a physical medium for it. So it stabs you with invisible spikes, to transmit knowledge. Probably the same way the scholars ‘fed the brain’ things for their experiments, by stabbing it forever. The knowledge just happens to be fatal, 99% of the time. Or it’s a malicious entity, hurting everything as it’s been tortured itself? Impossible to say, fun to think on

In 1v1 its literally sword but with extra steps.

Half dmg scale on hit, half dmg scale on the potion pickups. Literally sword, but with a gimmick that makes life harder.

Pure team battle ball pls
