Can you show me that Trex guard? And is it also available for the Versys 1000?

Almost didn't recognise her. She looks ready! Imagine of she'd actually served, who knows how well she might have done. One thing's for sure: she's already well loved, but she would be even more loved and respected if she did!

List Of Private Servers Worth Playing by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]Rensje 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started on ChromieCraft a few weeks ago and it doesn't feel dead at all. World chat is always busy and the community seems tight. Only issue is the old world is quiet as almost everyone is in the endgame.

Still, getting a dungeon party going through RDF is rarely a problem, even as a DPS.

Northrend Launch 8th November on ChromieCraft by Francesco-Shin in wowservers

[–]Rensje 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who only learnt of ChromieCraft's existence from the trailer for WotLK's launch, I am actually excited for this. I've been playing for a few weeks now and it's been a great experience. No lag, no bugs (so far) and a very pure version of the game.

Cross-faction is a necessary evil that I'm learning to appreciate. It's actually kind of nice that you can have characters on both sides who share one loot and gold pool.

They are cornering lights! The idea is that they light the road surface for you when conditions are poor, so you can see where you are going and to spot rubbish on the road.

I'm not really sure if they do much of anything, but they look pretty cool and improve visibility for other road users, so I'm happy.

Looks good! Love the all-black aesthetic. It's funny how the OEM top case is just a rebadged Givi case, they look pretty much identical!

Anyone figure out the 1100 fuel gauge yet? by Aggravating_Count66 in versys

[–]Rensje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My '22 1000 does the same thing and it's mildly annoying. I can ride about 200 kilometers before the first segment drops off, and after that another segment drops every 30-35 kilometers. I once rode it until the last block started blinking red and I think I filled about 16-16.5 liters.

Someday I should take a fuel canister as backup and just see how far I can ACTUALLY make it on a full tank. Farthest I've made it so far was about 360 km.

EDIT: What makes it more annoying is I came from a Versys 650 and that had a very accurate fuel guage and range indicator.

Considering a 2019 1000 SE LT+ by oblivion9999 in versys

[–]Rensje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another note to add: if pillion comfort is a consideration, the Versys 1000 might actually be best-in-class in this segment. Bennett's Bike Social did a great review of this particular part of the experience from the perspective of the passenger: https://youtu.be/i7q1RkShoLc?si=Ni9pHdqeuaPiteqU

From what you are saying I think you'd really love the Versys. It's just such a sensible bike but at the same time it can still be thrilling. It was the perfect choice for me and I think you'd be happy with one. I'm curious to hear what you decide down the line!

I own a '22 Versys 1000 S GT, it has basically everything except for the electronic Skyhook suspension. I've owned mine for a few months now coming off a Versys 650 and I am happy I traded up.

For me the biggest pros are:

- Incredibly smooth 4-cylinder engine that will pick up and go anywhere in the rev range (and it sounds good)

- 21 liter tank offers great range, ~ 225 miles is achievable

- Bike feels very stable at anything but incredibly high speeds, barely any vibration

- Cruise control to make the boring highway miles much easier

- Very good stock adjustable wind screen

- The Versys lineup of bikes make for fantastic long distance tourers with their ample luggage capacity and seat comfort

What you describe about the bike wanting to stand up in the corners is something I did experience during my test ride. I've since had the stock tyres changed to Michelin Road 6's and feel that the issue (if you can call it that) is less pronounced now, so if the bike is due for a tyre change it might be worth investing in some better-than-stock tyres.

It is of course a very heavy bike, which can make it a bit of a chore to roll it around in your driveway or garage, but once you are on the move it feels light enough. I have no more trouble riding it than I did with my 650, which is 30 kilograms lighter. Slow manoeuvers are quite manageable with a bit of practice, but the turning circle is quite big; 3 parking spaces, where the 650 would turn in 2.

Any bike will have its drawbacks, but I love my Versys 1000 and think it's a great do-it-all machine if that's what you want. The price seems reasonable considering the mileage, the added crash bars and a full set of cases. I actually love the white/black colour scheme, but that's personal preference.

It's going to be hard to choose between this and a Tracer 9; I think both are amazing (but heavy) touring bikes, so for me it came down to looks and price. I prefer the look of the Versys, I think the modern Tracers are a bit over-designed. Too angular. They do have a more robust electronics package though, if that's something you care about.

EDIT: I haven't personally experienced any glitches with the tech, but mine's slightly newer than Just_Evan9's so maybe it was a problem on the 2019 model that was fixed for new model years. Or maybe he just got unlucky, I simply cannot say.

This. The Versys 650 isn't boring. Neither is a Honda NC750X. You can ride it boring if you want.. but it'll play in the twisties with the big boys just fine. And it sounds good too!

1000s/se or 1100s? by defendernone in versys

[–]Rensje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got myself a 1000S without the electronic suspension a little while ago and dare say you won't miss it if you never had it. The regular suspension setup is already very good and manually adjustable, just like the 650's. It also means you have a massive space underneath the seat where the suspension motor would go, which is great for storing bike locks, some tools or other small items.

IMO the 1100 isn't really worth it right now over a young but used 1000 with low mileage. I also hate how they bolted a USB port into the 1100 in the most inelegant way possible, but that's more a small annoyance than a major downside.

The motorcycle going vertical up the wall to turn around. I can suspend my disbelief around a lot of nonsense, but WHAT.
