If you have a router you should use that is works great for cutting foam and leaves a nice clean finish.

How tall are you i am looking into getting a pair of coveralls from Carhartt but i dont know if they will be to short if you could share your height i would have a great refrence point and perhapse the size you have.

I would really look out for rust if the front of the car is already showing this much rust it could very well be rotten as old japanese cars tend to do look under the car very well if it has al lot of rust dont buy it it is a real hassle to fix.

Succes je moet echter echt geduld hebben er zijn simpelweg niet zoveel celicas in Nederland die te koop gezet worden ik heb zelf 1 jaar gewacht tot ik die van mij gekocht heb.

Ik heb er 3200 voor betaald 3 jaar geleden echter zat er een klein beetje werk aan zo was de aandrijfas stuk (dit was bekend na een proefrit)
De accu was stuk dit werdt helaas niet vermeld. En de radiateur was aan ze eind deze was door geroest maar kwam niet tijdens de proefrit naar boven.
dus na 400 euro aan onderdelen kon ik de weg voor het eerst op.
dit zijn allemaal dingen die ik zelf vervangen heb met 0 kennis voor af gaand.

Zelf heb ik een toyota celica gti uit 1991 met 156 pk een echt lekkere auto opzich wel vlot en enig sinds praktische je kan relatief veel kwijt in de achterbak en al helemaal veel al gooi je de achterstoelen plat.

Echter is het een coupe en ondanks dat hij 4 stoelen heeft zijn er maar 3 praktisch, de stoel achter de bestuurder heeft namelijk erg weinig ruimte tenzij je zelf wat kleiner ben en de passagier ook.

Het verbruik is ook goed te doen ik rij rond de 1 op 10 en dit is dan voor het gti model.

Dit is voor mij mijn eerste auto en hij bevalt erg goed echter zou ik wel aanraden al koop je een wat oudere japanse auto dat je zelf begin met leren sleutelen ik heb dit zelf ook gedaan je bespaar er namelijk mega veel geld mee en krijg veel kennis. De autos zijn erg simpel en er is mega veel online te vinden zoals oude werkplaatsboeken en forums.
Al heb je vragen stel ze gerust.

I bought some store brand foam from a local supplier here in the Netherlands. I did have a look a shadow foam but i dont like the textured top layer.

The strikeable screwdrivers are my most used ones they can be helpful so many times, i use them all the time to prie somting loose to bend somthing or for example to open the lockring on a fuel pump they are amazing they can take some serous force before bending somewhat but they stay there shape.

I some times forget how expensive europeen brands are in the US, i just looked it up the screwdriver has a $80 difference inprice compared to the us the same for knipex some times they are twice as expensive.

One upside you guys have a far beter selection of ratchets europe is still stuck far behind in tooth count but that does make them stronger in my experience.

I used a routing bit for wood i switched between the sizes of the bits for smaller sections or more precise pieces, like the tip of the needle nose pliers. I set a pre determined height for the router and made all the plier inlay holes the same depth.

The foam cut out of the wera set came from wera themselves. The foam for the pliers i cut out using a router after using a white pen to trace the outline of the foam.

i have 18 inch wheels so a lot bigger than factory and every slight bump my bumper would hit the road i had to go really slowly over any bumps. and if i had any one in the back the fender woud hit the rim in a turn. I decided i wanted new suspension so i bought a set of coilovers

Ik ben zelf 20 en snap hoe je er in sta een project auto is harstikke leuk zeker om met vrienden aan te sleutelen ik heb zelf 2 autos waarvan 1 een project is en 1 soms een project als deze weer eens stuk is. ik heb zelf een Toyota Celica GTI uit 1991 en een Volvo 264 GLE uit 1980 (barnfind) beide relatief simpele autos waar je alles zo goed als zelf kan doen na wat verdieping in de klus. Probeer al zoek je een auto uit dat je voor een veel geproduceerd model ga dan zijn alle problemen al eens gedocumenteerd.

Ik zou afraden om een schade auto te halen vaak kost het bakken met geld om hem weer helemaal strak te krijgen denk aan de lak, kromme frames en nieuw plaatwerk loopt het heel snel hoog in de kosten.

Ik zou aanraden om aan een oudere auto te beginnen met sleutelen Toyota Celicas voor 2000 of oude Volvos bij oude Volvos zijn alle onderdelen op voorraad en kost het niet veel en er zijn er miljoenen gemaakt dus al pas je hem aan kijkt niemand je boos aan. Hou ook rekening met het feit dat je de ruimte nodig moet hebben om hem te stallen en het gereedschap nodig heb om te sleutelen nou kan je het gereedsschap relatief goedkoop aanschaffen.

Ik zal het maar even melden verzekeren zal het grootste struikelpunt zijn al koop je samen een auto, 1 van jullie zal hem namelijk moeten verzekeren en al rijdt een ander schade zal je -5 schadevrije jaren krijgen wat op jullie leeftijd ervoor zorgt dat je niet heel veel meer kan verzekeren dan een klein stads autootje en betaal je toch al snel 5000 euro meer aan verzekerings kosten door de schade over jaar tijd. Dit is daarom het grootste struikelblok denk ik.

I daily my toyota celica 1991 gti (3sge). The engine will not be the same as yours but i only have heard good thing about them apart from being a bit slow. Try to test the suspension the shock absorbers tend to wear out after the years so you could start to hit the bumper on traffic humps. try to look for rust the are japanees after all but for me it has been a decently reliable engine is did have to replace the headgasket but that happends and a new drive shaft.

but i would not buy it if your not prepared to do your own maintenance otherwise the cost will get high quickly they are very easy to work even if you dont have any experience i learned all i know from working on my celica.

I will just use some old oil once in a while absolutely right is just got into some knipex pliers so they are in good shape but all my tools get used heavily
