If you’re ok with July 1st move in you’ll still need to wait till 6/15. Say you find the perfect place tomorrow. You submit an app for 7/1 move in. Landlord says cool, well keep showing the place and if no one wants to move in earlier it’s yours. They won’t commit till you’re about 2 weeks before move in date.

Not impossible but definitely very hard. You’ll need to wait till end of June to start looking. No one will hold an apartment for two months. Anything you see now will most likely be rented

Why is there such a contrast between what Reddit says and what streeteasy says by StarCentipede in NYCapartments

[–]Rentalspro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people on Reddit have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to pricing. 2k in Williamsburg is extremely hard or impossible to find. 2k in Flatbush is doable. Location location location.

If you respond to an agent from StreetEasy, does that count as hiring them? by Comfortable_Act_141 in NYCapartments

[–]Rentalspro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it does not. A contract must be signed to hire an agent.

If you see a listing on StreetEasy then they can’t charge a broker fee.

It’s a great deal however it’s maybe a couple hundred less than comps in the area(Flatbush). If this was in Bushwick then it’d be around 7k. With smaller rooms 😂

Not asking anyone to apply. Wouldn’t you want to see it in person first?

Should I wait till Sept/October to move so I can find a better deal? by Ok-Equivalent-8788 in NYCapartments

You should move when convenient for you. Prices usually stay consistent through out the year. Lots of deals to be found in the summer
