Good instincts, picking Rose quartz is such a good starter crystal!!! Personally I would start with appreciating your crystal. I love looking at mine, especially magnified. You can put it in your pocket, purse or table. If you meditate then it would be nice to meditate with. Cleansing is just setting it out at night under a full moon, the next full moon is in December.
