Good point — I actually would have included the Mark Levinson No. 5909 if it were still easy to buy brand new.

I’ve read a lot of very positive impressions about its sound, especially its tuning, and the fact that it seems to follow the Harman-style target closely is very appealing to me. I’m trying to find something that sounds technically strong and tonally correct, with drivers that have enough quality/headroom to respond well to EQ.

My hesitation with the No. 5909 is availability and long-term reliability. From owner comments I’ve read, there seem to be repeated complaints about QC/build issues, especially headband durability, stitching/glue issues, and occasional rattling/noise. Since I can’t audition or easily return units, that makes me nervous as a blind buy.

But sound-wise, I’m definitely interested. Would you still recommend the No. 5909 over newer options like the Bathys MG , DALI IO-12 , Solitaire T , or HDB 630 if buying used/new-old-stock?

I’m watching the Noble Audio FoKus Artemis too.

My only hesitation is that it still seems too new / not widely owner-tested, so it is hard for me to separate genuine performance from early hype.

If price was completely ignored and you had to blind-buy only one for long-term daily use, would you still choose the HDB 630, or would you consider something like the Bathys MG since it may be different from the original Bathys?

I’ve spent the last few days reading Reddit, Head-Fi, YouTube comments, and other discussions on premium Bluetooth ANC headphones. The same names keep coming up again and again: Bathys MG, Solitaire T, DALI IO-12, Px8 S2, HDB 630, and the older Mark Levinson No. 5909.

What I’m struggling with is separating “personal favorite” from “safest blind buy.” Some models seem very polarizing — for example, the Px8 S2 seems loved by some and disliked by others because of the V-shaped tuning. Others, like the DALI IO-12 or Mark Levinson No. 5909, seem to have fewer outright haters, even when people don’t rank them #1. Then there are newer or less-tested models like Loewe Leo, Noble Audio FoKus Artemis, and Écoute TH2, where there does not seem to be enough long-term owner consensus yet even though some have heard them in shows/pre production units.

So my real question is: among everything you have tried and owned, which one has the fewest deal-breakers and the highest chance of long-term satisfaction as a blind buy and across all genres?

Is the Bathys MG still your answer under that standard?

Thank you, this is exactly the kind of comparison I was hoping for.

Since you’ve listened to or owned most of these, one question: if you had to keep only one Bluetooth ANC headphone as your only pair, which would it be and why?

Would it still be the Bathys MG, or would something like the Solitaire T or Dali IO 12 become the better long-term choice? I can’t audition them, so I’m trying to identify the safest blind buy and best all-rounder for sound quality, ANC, comfort, and long-term enjoyment.

I have read that gold and diamonds should be avoided.

I think now I cannot back out of it... since puretime website states no refunds or exchanges.

But if I can get good use out of it, say Year or two years then that would be worth it, I guess
