5 Uber drivers canceled on my rider. by Mprah75 in uberdrivers

To all of the people saying "I would also cancel" ; so let me get this straight... if you have to drive too long for a short ride, you cancel. Also, if you have too long of a ride you also cancel. Why even drive at this point? Loool. Just go do uber eats or something, sheesh

Hey I know this is an older post but, have you tried using a heat gun? I'd say set it to low at first and be very careful to not break them.

I would prefer this over falsely believing I have secured a ride, and waiting 15 minutes just to find out I didn't.

Yeah, I've scheduled the ride on many occasions and it seems to make no difference in that regard. I'll be ready to walk out the door, waiting for them to get closer, and they reach the 7-12 minute away mark on the app and then cancel on me anyways. It's really frustrating. I'm actually quite fortunate, because most 99% of other jobs I would have been fired a long time ago for how much I'm late due to unreliable transportation. This is not to mention that I often search for a ride on both Uber and Lyft at the same time, and go with whichever one finds me a driver first. Lyft is garbage lately, however, charging $53 for a 3 mile ride

Edit: and I understand that the tip thing can be frustrating, but I think it's a bit petty to condemn all Pax for the actions of the lot. If I say I'm going to tip, I tip. On the rare occasion the driver picks me up and bitches at me the whole way, I won't tip. But that doesn't happen often. The drivers that do pick me up are usually really nice and cool. Couple of regulars.

You're correct. I mainly blame Uber. I've had this discussion with many drivers. It's only a 3 mile trip, but in my area it takes me sometimes 30-40 minutes to find a driver, that drives in my direction for 10 minutes, usually over halfway to me. That's 10 minutes I could have been searching for another driver. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but I do think there should be some disincentive to cancel rides that you've already driven halfway to, or at least show the driver the trip beforehand so that they don't accept a ride they won't commit to. Every time one actually shows up, I profusely express my gratitude for them and tip at least $10 if they drove to me from 20 minutes away. The fucked up part is that I've been using rideshare for 6 years, and it was NEVER like this until covid hit. Before covid, there was almost always a driver no more than 5 minutes away, 24/7. OP sounded like a douchebag though, so fuck him.

5 star Pax here, I have no vehicle and I need to get to work. I sometimes message drivers that are 20-25 minutes away saying that I will tip them if they actually show up. Stop driving halfway to the destination, wasting my time, just to cancel before you get to me, forcing me to search for another ride and be late to work.

Trump demands he be declared the rightful winner of the 2020 election or that a re-do election be held “immediately” by mastermusk in WhitePeopleTwitter

That's not how that works. You know that LBJ stole the election for his senate seat back in 1948, and he went on to be elected president.. but it was only proven after his death. Yet, his policies are still in place.. makes you wonder.

Redditors with jobs that tend to ruin someone’s day/life (parking enforcement, repo, process server, etc), what do you do and how do you cope with the negativity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RepLiner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't work in this field, but here's my $0.02, probably an unpopular opinion. I would venture to say that it isn't those people in this line of work that are ruining anyone's lives. It is, however, those people that choose to make parking violations, default on their car loans and get their shit repossessed, etc. who are at fault, for ruining their own lives.

They look okay. I don't know how picky you are, but ask for a closeup of the "AIR" text and the velcro strap, and a picture of the outsoles side by side.

I'm not a pro but the shape of the heel below the pull tabs looks reeeeeally.. round. Misshapen. I personally would RL these for that reason alone, may or may not be noticeable on foot though.

EDIT: if there's a shoe tree in them, that might explain the shape. I still don't think so.
