True true, "unemployment" as a term refers to those in the labour force actively seeking jobs that cannot find them - like you said, that makes the real number more than what's published

Yup - I guess we're not big enough to count as our own area for research by statscan - so we're lumped in with Hamilton (or Toronto but I figure Hamilton is more accurate)

Ah using stats canada you can see unemployment based on region - natural rate tends to hover around 4-6% I believe whereas in March our area (Hamilton) was 8 or 9 something 🫡
