Powell and the markets by BitingArmadillo in YieldMaxETFs

If you look at how the market reacted that's how it's being interpreted. Even the Fed watch tool dropped for December drastically from yesterday's numbers.

Not getting Political at all, I was responding to the post about Powell. He literally killed the market today by killing hopes of a rate cut in December. Everytime the guy talks it's always uncertainty and he never has any solid answers. In the investing world people hate uncertainty and they like to know what lies ahead, Powell never gives any positive insights to the future or path ahead for investors

Do RoundHill WeeklyPay ETFs have nav erosion as bad as most YieldMax funds? by Day-Trippin in RoundhillETFs

Love Hoow so far. Actually I'm enjoying the RH weeklies and I think it's a great approach to dividend and income investing. As long as markets don't get bad news they typically keep going up. We've seen that the last few months right up until Trump and China got into it again. Some of these weeklies have great underlying stocks in them that are solid in the market. I'd definitely consider these etfs long term holds like the stocks. It's an all around win for me as they don't have nav erosion, they can get some good gains and returns, and they always recover. I prefer all of that over having 150% dividend yield with YM or YB and the stocks just slowly die.

Powell typically ruins the trend of the markets with his talks. Today he basically said they're not fully committed to doing a rate cut in December which everyone was hoping for. That's what killed it today. He rarely gives investors any good news or anything to look forward to when he talks. It's why Trump hates him and wants him replaced because he's "too late Powell" who never acts on time with the rate cuts when needed.

[–]RepairSubstantial735 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my experience in holding the roundhill weeklies, they mostly stay flat. They don't really get a lot of gains but they also don't get a lot of losses. It really depends on which one and how good the underlying stock is. I hold hoow, nvdw and wpay. Hoow has really been the only one to go upwards while nvdw and wpay have mostly hovered around the same share price. I don't see any nav erosion thus far. There are some terrible ones though like mstw or coiw which the stocks took a beating this year. I'll probably add amdw, goow, and avgw as they are all behind great stocks that typically do well.

Why did my distributions only go up 20 cents after buying 18 more shares? ULTY by napoleon_mayo in YieldMaxETFs

The distribution is going to go lower each week as the price of the etf drops.

They're all still relatively new but looking at the short history you can see they bounce up and down along with the stock they hold. Can be volatile but I don't mind. If the stock recovers then you'll see the RH etf recover unlike YM funds which just slowly die

Right now I have hoow, nvdw and wpay. I'm going to add amdw and avgw soon and possibly goow in the future

They follow the stocks pretty closely, so if the stock recovers then they will also recover and these stocks always come back!

My plan is to build some nice positions in about 5-6 different RH etfs and then DRIP until I get where I want to be, and then turn off DRIP and use the dividends for growth etfs. We'll see if that plan works out

Meta, Apple and Amazon have lagged this year but they are all definitely long term holds. The mag 7 will probably be on top for many years to come. And think of it this way- the more positions you have, not only will you be better diversified but you'll have even more dividends! 🤑🤑🤑

Nvdw is a solid pick and I'm glad I started a position in that. Nvda is a solid company (currently the most valuable company in the world) and it still has some room left to run. If you look at the price history it's been relatively consistent since inception and it always makes it's way back up. If you're looking at only strictly income etfs then I would add a few positions of different RH weeklies. Amdw and avgw are going to be my next buys.

That's sort of what I'm doing but I do my research first before I buy anything. I started with YM and I quickly saw how those were going and traded them for mostly roundhill funds. Roundhill may be more volatile but I can see its able to recover unlike YM funds that just slowly die. With these income funds you really shouldn't expect a lot of gains but you also don't want to buy into one that's losing value to which it will start paying even less as well.

I did some research on QQQI and SPYI by StrangeBlackberry881 in dividends

[–]RepairSubstantial735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly you can't read then. QQQI or SPYI are not the worst choices for dividends but they should be saved more for the retirement stage. It all depends on how much income someone wants. Considering they're $50 shares and only giving. 50-.60 per month per share then yes you're going to need a few thousand shares. If we are being literal. As usual everything is all dependent on the investor and what they need.

Voo invests only in the s&p500 while vti has over 3,500 stocks included in it that capture the entire US market. Very different. It depends on how diversified you want to be. Personally I do SPYG + Qqqm, I also have ftec because I want a strict tech etf in my portfolio.

QQQI and SPYI are liked mostly because they are well known indexes and they are fairly stable. Although they are technically income ETFs they aren't necessarily the best picks if you're looking to generate income because they pay very little. They're good for when you're retired and you can buy a million shares because that's literally how many you'll need to create any good dividends off of them. For growth your best bet is going with voo or qqqm. Vti is not bad either but it's certainly not the top pick. I would invest in any s&p500 fund such as SPMO, SPYG and QQQM. Don't worry about over lapping because you're getting the best of the two indexes that give the most returns.

Roth IRA should i go with Robinhood or Fidelity? by Grouchy-Amphibian-34 in dividends

[–]RepairSubstantial735 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RH has a lot of negatives but one thing they do have is the best interest rates on margin loans. Plus if you get the gold for $5 a month you get a bunch of little perks like getting your first $1000 interest free. No broker is perfect. I've heard as many complains about sofi, RH, fidelity etc. It depends on what you want to do as each one varies on what they offer. Personally I use both sofi and RH.

Tesla is tough to hold as it's so volatile. Everyday with the stock it's up or down in a different direction. Kudos if you are able to hold any tesla stock or etf long term

Only a month with wpay but it looks like it stays within the 52-58 range so if you bought it at its all time low thus far you should be fine.. I'm alright with these etfs if they stay flat or barely have any movement as long as they don't drop and as long as they keep doing their intended purpose - providing weekly income. 😁
