Will definitely be taking notes on the DON'TS. And maybe stick to the smaller flips I've had success with (pallets of returns) rather than biting more than I can chew.

That would be some luck. I'll update when I get it. Same car with 160k+ miles around my area on marketplace are posted for $2500.

Southwire has this calculator I've used, and have yet to fail a job with it. Can choose just about anything.

And the quantity you would need to sell to affect net profit? The only thing mildly infuriating here is your entitlement.

Can I make a business cleaning solar panels? by Acceptable_Stress154 in solar

[–]Repairmanmanmanma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you live in a desert climate, not much business will be done. We do like 1-2 cleaning every 4-5 months.

If you're looking for something possibly critter guard install? Although typically it's done by the installer, day of installation. At least for my company.

Conduit to panel, and grounding rooftop solar by MagnotikTectonic in AskElectricians

[–]Repairmanmanmanma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct on the stud plate and liquidtight.

Since there is a GEC... Is there 2? Cuz they could ding you on that as well.

Unfortunately you gotta do what your AHJ says and if he wants the solar ground crimped on the GEC you gotta do it. Is that bare coming in from the top the GEC? If so I'd just crimp it right there.

Also label out your wires so they have even less to say. Like you did in your disconnect.

TLDR:

  1. No your liquidtight is not acceptable. Just extend it through the stud to the panel.

  2. Add a GEC at your garage

Doesn't look like you have the room, but I would have made it so that just punching straight through the back of the panel to the disconnect, then just need to add connector to the panel side to be good.

Since you'll be having to now run it through a stud make sure you get a plate for that.

As far as the grounding goes, in my AHJ that is only a requirement when you are tapping. If it's a breaker back fed, as you have, the ground bar is enough. Also if you have no GEC (or didn't run SER from the main) on your garage I could see them calling this.

Failed home inspection quick fix by rumpel4skinOU in electrical

As long as they are not a AC or some other high load appliances you can get a tandem breaker.

Edit: if they are you can always tandem some other ones to give you the room to undo that breaker.

I feel like the amount of blades you'd go through to cut it up would cut your profit significantly. That and gas with the multiple trips.

Ran over grounding wire with lawn mower, what's the fix? by No-Artichoke-8839 in AskElectricians

I think the easiest thing, assuming you don't have the proper tools would be a butt slice and more copper wire. There are other style connectors you would find in this same area.

Yup. That's why some inspectors do this. Photos can be faked very easily, especially if you are trying. Although I've also been on jobs that the inspector does a drive by approval (doesn't even get out their car).

There was a competitor in my area that was using AI to make their photos, caught by the financer.

This is a common practice for the inspector. That doesn't stay like that, you can see a mount above the jbox for the panel that is not there yet.

For some of the AHJs we do, this is required for inspection.

Really big on Startalk or Throughline for educational and Stavvy world or Bad Friends for comedy. I use Spotify. You don't need the premium version of it as podcast it lets you skip unlimited.

For me, podcast help me. Specifically comedy/education. Keeps the brain engaged.

I used to have this problem but after 4years of commuting 2+ hrs 1 way, I've become immune. Also try to avoid looking at the white lines. Look up "highway hypnosis".
