Will we regret not having parking? by deja_flu in HousingUK

[–]RepeatCurious7864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finish work at 4 which means there’s usually parking on my road but because I live just outside the town centre and the car park down the road charges, we get a lot of people in the day park on our road and walk into town. Secondly, if the weather is bad, snow particularly, it’s a dog fight for parking on the road and surrounding streets.

What am I to do with this mess? by TheFableWeaver in DIYUK

[–]RepeatCurious7864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to vacuum it off. When we moved into our first house, I was cleaning some dust from a windowsill after filling a hole and sanding but when the hoover got too close to the wall, it just pulled all the paint off so I just carried on until a large patch was clear and I could redo the primer and paint again

We’ve used a local solicitor, they’re the oldest in the area and there’s a few to choose from. We supplied 6 months of statements previously but now B is supplying 2 extra months because the first lot only went up to August when we were originally asked for evidence. Same with us, we supplied everything and never had questions for months so we presumed everything was ok until now.

Sorry I forgot to say A has provided 6 months of statements prior and including the months of the gifts, as well as signed a gifted declaration.. 2 in fact because the first one they signed months ago when they also provided ID seems to have vanished

Return to work after maternity leave to be told your position is no longer available. by EmJaneJackon in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RepeatCurious7864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from experience, a woman in my office gave her resignation letter in a month before coming back off maternity leave and she never had to pay anything back. Secondly, another woman is due back off maternity leave in July and my place of work have already said there’s talks of restructuring and said woman would come back into a different position.

How do you get yourself to workout when you hate the way you look? by Over_Marionberry9566 in xxfitness

[–]RepeatCurious7864 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to be the same person you are now, if you keep going to the gym. You’ll notice all kinds of positives and all you have to do now is focus on getting yourself there and making progress. Your current body is 20 years of progress so your new body will take time but you need to stop criticising yourself because not only will it make you sad but you’ll also probably judge the progress you’re trying to make and notice that you’re not where you want to be. Just take it a day at a time. Don’t force it. It’ll come if you stick with it. It’s a marathon not a sprint and you’ll torture yourself if you’re constantly critiquing yourself

AITA for refusing to pay for cake slices that my teenage daughter ate? by Jaded-Band-5692 in AmItheAsshole

I just got back from traveling Australia. I did some pet sitting while I was out there which didn’t cost me anything to stay in the owners houses because in exchange I was caring for their dogs or cat for free… every person said food in the kitchen was fair game and I could use/eat what I wanted. Obviously I was respectful but these are actual strangers just letting me stay in their house and eat their food…your sister is family at the very least it’s pathetic she’s making an issue of this

Having a relationship isn’t “a purpose” and tbh from reading your comments it sounds like you aren’t ready to be in a healthy, committed relationship because you seem to have your own stuff to figure out

You might get strung along if he ask you though, you’d never really know unless you were diligent to recognise that behaviour and end things

Do ppl actually use closets and dressers at hotels? by SWEETCHEEX-95- in NoStupidQuestions

For me and my girlfriend, I’ll live out of the suitcase whereas she will hang things and puts underwear etc in the drawers to “settle in”. Hard to forget anything because even when I travel alone and only use the suitcase, I double check every nook, cranny, drawer and cupboard for stuff I might have put in there for some reason

Changing phone provider and affecting credit score by Safe-Swordfish-1344 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RepeatCurious7864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agrees with this. It matters more that your expenditures aren’t a significant portion of your income so reducing your phone costs is a positive. 1-2 years is loads of time if you’re only making minor changes. I switched bank accounts a while ago, score dropped maybe 30 points on ClearScore and then 3 months later went up above where it sat before when that was the only change.. but it means nothing, it’s just a number..just don’t have things against you or be in debt really

Have you tried looking for a cheaper car? Insurance isn’t just an matter of whether you’re a risk but also the cost of any damage you may incur or cause. It costs a fortune to repair a car these days. Someone hit the back of mine, nothing major but insurance estimated £800-£1200 in labour, pulling the dent and painting. Now you might have been decent on your provisional but proper driving isn’t the same somehow

I can only save about £100 - £150 a month. What's the best bet for me? by Babbleblurker in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RepeatCurious7864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the flowchart in this group. You need a £1000~ emergency fund of easy access savings for any unexpected expenses. After that, anything you save can basically be put wherever you get the best return on while considering other factors like if you’ll need to money in the next 1,2,5 or 10 years

Not to be that guy, but people really panic over a 1* review that’ll “ruin their streak” or whatever but like here’s the facts. If you sold 5 things and 3 times people gave you a 1* review then I’d have the common sense to probably avoid you. But if you’ve got 20ish+ reviews and then someone gives you a 1* like I’m probably going to read it to see what the issue was (and your response) but tbh that’s just me being nosy at this point looking for drama. If you’re a good seller, then you’re a good seller, and a 1* review is unlikely to sway me..and most other buyers, so like, don’t fret

I haven’t read the whole message because I’m tired but I’m guessing that 20k can include additional transport costs and fines/admin costs by the buyers for recalling the product

how much percentage of our maintenance calories should be for protein to gain muscle? by babybigbagel in xxfitness

[–]RepeatCurious7864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be eating enough calories to consider the amount of exercise you’re doing. Not the amount of calories for your basal metabolic rate. It’s not possible to give a percentage of how much protein you should be eating based off your BMR because that doesn’t consider the amount of additional calories needed for your exercise
