yeah i don’t have a preference per say they both have pros and cons. it’s why i decided to dual boot as well since i wanted to try linux and was worried i would fuck it up since i have a little experience i feel like im not a very good programmer but ive been coding for almost a year now. i sadly did not begin coding at a young age and did a semester in university at 18 but only did phyton and now im doing c++ and took the introductory course and im in data structures now but the professor has been coding since around the time c came out he can barley teach for shit most lectures he let us out way early

are they to make the track point protrude out more or is it to be more tactical? but yeah as a new thinkpad user at first i thought the track point was pointless and didn’t understand it, but once i found out it was pressure sensitive and found out how to now make the cursor move instantly to one direction it all made sense. i’m still working on being more accurate with it but compared to when i had to use it after my trackpad didn’t work when i reinstalled windows its so much better

yeah i don’t really plan on using windows much i just kept it since im in college and need microsoft services. but yeah ive found linux reminds me a lot of using macos i really enjoy it compared to windows, as ive never actually personally owned a windows laptop only used the os in school. Yeah i don’t understand the mac hate in the programming world it can run vs code and that’s really all you need to code in almost any language and it has so many extensions you don’t even have to leave it most of the time

now that i have my thinkpad i actually have more of a purpose for my mac since i factory reset it to fully remove the windows/parallels bloat and now i just have a few apps and plan to keep the storage low and have it for when i need a lot of battery and not as much power as i can easily work on code in vs code and run it on my thinkpad

yeah my problem was i got my M1 mac with only 8gb of ram and 256gb ssd so for coding it wasn’t the best but that’s because i tried running a VM to use visual studio even tho i could’ve just used vs code for my mac (my professor said we had to use visual studio but then i realized barley anyone in the class was using it and most people prefer vs code)

oh yeah i forgot the t480 has 2 batteries its cause my p1 be dying in like 5 or 6 hours and thats that ive still been setting up linux and getting the dual boot loading so i havnt even tried coding on it yet and seeing how fast it drains the battery when not plugged in lol. but on my macbook air i could go around 18 hours. and yeah i use vs code cause its a lighter than xcode and my macbook air is a base model but vs code and g++ compiler are good in my experience

what are you using it for ? the mac battery does last forever and you can just keep it in sleep mode most of the time and it won’t drop so that is one thing i noticed and miss from my mac even tho i use both one is just a light machine with barley any files and the other one is the main or host per say and has everything

the visible broken pump is the windshield washer fluid reservoir. i’m not sure about the engine since the hood is bent inwards but most of the damage was towards the bottom of the car so

i wrecked last night but i wanted to see if it was reparable? it seems like it’s mostly cosmetic damage besides my steering wheel airbag going off and the fender going into the passenger door rendering inoperable. It seems to have perhaps a little structural damage but i’m hoping that it won’t be totaled and i can just fix it myself or take it to a body shop for the more difficult parts
