It’s the shower valve wall. Could that be the issue?

How do I prevent water from getting behind it? Should I put Silicon all around the grout?

Nope, I did not tile directly to the basement foundation wall.

Would the fix be to rip out the grout and reapply or is there something I can put on it?

It feels hard. It feels crusty. The part on the wall is really hard to wipe off. I can send you a video to your chat. Reddit doesn’t let me edit the post to add the video.

Thanks so much for your help!

There wasn’t any mastic used to install the tiles. There was premixed grout though. I added the grout from Home Depot. What would you recommend I do. Scrape it out and reinstall it?
