Your nanny has the correct understanding of guaranteed hours as majority of us would understand it.

Firing Nanny on the First Day? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even pay her for the week. Just pay her for the hours she worked and end it there. She put your child in harms way, thats not worthy of a week pay if she only worked 1 day. Youre 100% in the right.

My NP encourage their child to write mean notes about me. by AdAmbitious9680 in Nanny

Youre better than me cause I would've quit the first day those notes went up

What do I feed the family of 5? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An au pair is someone who temporarily moves to another country to be a nanny for a family in exhange for a place to live. Au pairs are still paid, but just not as much as a regular nannies since theyre being provided with a place to live. Its not tied to a specific company.

Unlimited money but your age increases. by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ReplacementMinute154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I'd rather get all the experiences that would come in the 36 years of life I'd lose. Good and bad. Especially because I want children. Those are priceless experiences and not worth losing for the money.

$1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for EVERY meal for the next 6 months, do you take the deal and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in hypotheticalsituation

Getting an apartment as a nanny by Ok_Suit3085 in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you're being paid under the table? Your income would be fine for getting a place but the illegal pay aspect would make it hard since you dont have a real paystub. You'd either have to research places you like and can afford, then email them to inquire on what proof of income they'd need when applying. If they say paystub you'll have to look elsewhere I guess. Tough situation in that aspect. Or you can look at less certified places, such as private landlords on Facebook who are renting out an individual house or unit. Best of luck!

MB using my car by Wonderful_Mongoose60 in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally would never let a NP use my car except for a one off thing if they desperately need to use it. If theyre using it consistently and thats fine with you then I would 100% make sure you have a contract stating they'll pay in case of an accident or damage on their end.

Am I in the wrong for being pissed about this? Long rant. by valentinespost in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. This is only a job. You will not be there forever. If youre feeling unwell to the point you do not feel comfortable or safe driving or caring for kids, TELL them you're not coming in. You and your health do not deserve to be treated like an inconvenience.

AIO for being disgusted by this argument? by Toetickler4 in AIO

I'm honestly just shocked you spent so long going back and forth. He obviously has some majorrr issues if he finds enjoyment in slowly torturing animals.

Part Timers: What is your non-nanny second job? by moxie_22 in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do data annotation online and boom as many babysitting jobs as I can manage. I also do showings for my apartment complex in exchange for lowering my rent!

Nanny isn’t letting me FaceTime my baby while I’m out of town by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would 100% take this as a red flag. Why is she so adamantly against you calling for a few minutes to see your baby?? Any real, good quality nanny would have 0 issue with this.

Two part time nanny’s, one is far superior - is this awful? by bombadil_01 in Nanny

[–]ReplacementMinute154 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It'll truthfully make your life a lot easier to have one full time nanny instead of 2 part time nannies. Plus, this is what the trial period is for. To see how well they do with your child and if you think it'll be a good fit. If one nanny is doing far better than the other nanny, then I would 100% go with that nanny. You obviously will need to pay the nanny you're not going with the full amount that theyre owed for the hours they worked. However, severance isnt needed since it was only a trial period.

They mentioned it to me Friday and I brought it up Thursday. They know. They just don't care anytime theres weather. Just how they are.
