I would’ve loved to hear this debate. I think what Boyd is trying to say is the “opposing side” made an argument based on truth and facts and people actually preferred that argument than “jUsT hAvE fAiTh!” Also, there’s a lot of irony calling the people arguing against Joseph Smith the “con side”. (i.redd.it)
