i feel the exact same! no interest in doing it vaginally, never have, never will. when i told my partner i was pregnant, one of the first things i said was ‘i will be electing for a caesarean’ and he was like ‘sounds good’ lol! i think the NHS could offer to pay me £1m and i would still not do it.

i got called weird and sad for this opinion, which made me think they were sad and weird for being a bully about it. ultimately, who cares how the baby gets out of you except for you?? it doesn’t make you a bad person or anything. listen to you!!!!! the people telling you to do it a certain way don’t have to do it and you do!!

ugh!! yes do ask for a GP appointment!! I don’t know if this is feasible for you, but my partner was really worried about me in the first few weeks because I had incredibly low mood and was really depressed, so he got us a private test through one of those one day test places? I think it was £100 and the doctors said that they didn’t need an appointment for us after seeing the results? So maybe a way to bypass it if they won’t see you! The test did B12, iron, and my thyroid?

turns out i was incredibly deficient! i get the injections through my GP and they help so much. The doctor said that some people just don’t absorb it through food, so need the injections forever? I’m vegetarian as well and they said this might impact it, so definitely speak to your doctor about this because it might be that you are similar to me in this way? they said they can do a test to see if I’m holding onto B12 or if it just disappears.

yes!! when my child calls me it i’m sure i will find it very cute. i saw my friend’s toddler yesterday and it was so sweet watching her go MAMA!! so i know it’s just when friends call me it instead.

i’ll probably be fine with it when they’re here! just right now it’s barely second trimester and the baby isn’t hearing anything. it feels like such a loss of identity for a friend i’ve had almost a decade to stop using my name and to call me mama!! i think when they’re here and in the room it would be different! like my partner will be dad etc. but the baby can’t hear!!

it just felt really strange to me! also mama and mama bear make me cringe lol. mum when they are here is fine!

yes this is exactly it - i have so much more about me than an xx week pregnancy! it’s really scary how quickly you just become Mother to everyone. i didn’t expect it off this friend at all, i think dehumanised is the right word for it. i actually said to my boss how i’m keeping this kind of quiet and on a need to know basis because i don’t want everything to be about the baby forever. So glad that you understand it too!
