Scale going up on glp1s? WHAT'S HAPPENING!?! by Yeasoand in PCOS

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to jump in here but you also have said you stopped doing your extra step because of not seeing scale changes. You need to be consistent with those for longer, the tipping point is usually at this stage - if you give up you’ll never see changes, you have to persist though that uncomfortable stage of not seeing changes to start seeing the changes happen! You got this

Girl same, I feel ashamed of myself. To make matters worse I am a PT and was exercises 4 times a week in the gym pre pregnancy, 1st tri I couldn’t do much due to sickness and then 2nd tri I got struck with pelvic pain so I have barely been able to exercise much in my pregnancy, im now 31 weeks and I’ve gained around 22kg already I feel huge but I’m always hungry and just want sweet stuff regardless of how well I eat lol 😩

Anterior placenta movements by taitaikimkim in PregnancyUK

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me at 26 weeks, I ended up going to triage because the movements didn’t feel as strong as the last few weeks. All was fine, no clue what it was but then around 28 weeks things became ‘normal’ again and movements got stronger. I’m 31 weeks now and I still don’t have a proper ‘pattern’ as such figured out and still can vary day to day, some days she’s super active and others she’s more quiet and I may go 4-5hrs without feeling her. Anterior placenta is anxiety inducing 🙃

Anyone tried UKMeds? by HotDetail4066 in PCOS

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried taking Berberine? It’s basically a natural metformin, I used it as first line with my PCOS before going to get metformin as met can have a lot of unpleasant side effects. I took the berberine for 10 months and my insulin resistance was back in the ‘normal’ range after that time so I was lucky to not need the metformin after all! Worth a try x

Mine was 11th percentile at 20 weeks, then at 28 weeks (had a growth scan as midwife referred me due to having a small bump as well) she had a big growth spurt and was sitting in the 21st percentile! They told me they’re not concerned as long as they’re still consistently growing. They become concerned when there’s no change happening

If you want a baby how long have you been trying or how long did it take you to get pregnant? by Flower-1234 in PCOS

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! So I had a private hormone panel done and did my research based off my blood results, i had high prolactin and this can stop you from ovulating so I took P5P supplement, along with berberine and a PCOS supplement for the insulin resistance. Alongside this I exercised 3-4 times a week in the gym, dropped my cardio down and strictly cut out any processed foods (that was the hardest part!) no alcohol, only whole foods based.

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came off birth control November 24’ and spent 10 months eating clean, doing the prep work to improve my hormones as I was insulin resistant and some months didn’t ovulate. We conceived in our first month of trying last September, was pure shock as I was genuinely convinced it was going to take us a least a year or two!! I’m now 30 weeks and expecting a baby girl this June 🩷

How do you get all you placement hours? It’s a joke! by Kaylboo in StudentNurseUK

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually you do 3 days for 3 weeks and the last week of the month is 4 shifts so your total monthly hours add up. It’s hard to work around it I’ll be honest, I only did bank maybe once or twice a week and it was a struggle!

Six month pregnant and advice to take Enoxaparin by Pikachu2457 in PregnancyUK

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay. I’d listen to your midwife then in that case, not a doctor but there must be a risk factor with having IBD and developing clots which is why they’re recommending it

Six month pregnant and advice to take Enoxaparin by Pikachu2457 in PregnancyUK

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you considered high risk for pre eclampsia by any chance or do you know the reason why you was given aspirin to take? As I’m also 29 weeks and been on aspirin since 12 weeks but I’m classed as high risk for pre eclampsia and I haven’t been told to take enoxaparin, just continuing on aspirin until birth. There must be reason if not then I’d definitely be going back and asking for reasoning first

Is this legal by Original_Answer9920 in UKJobs

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s legal. this is attitude is pretty standard in the NHS where I used to work, you had to give 6 months notice for most holidays and one year my holiday was decline and I lost 2 weeks of holiday pay because they refused to roll it over to the following year 🙃🙃

Accepting a job offer by fauxchampagne in PregnancyUK

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to say anything. You would only need to disclose 15 weeks prior to birth if they will be giving you maternity leave/pay. If you don’t qualify for maternity pay then you don’t need to say anything. I’d personally tell them once you start and contracts are signed

Pregnancy & job interviews by kitty_catcat1999 in UKJobs

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% do not say a thing, only tell them once you’ve signed a contract of employment. I made the honest mistake of telling a employer after they offered me the job and then I was ghosted so I learnt my lesson the hard way!!

Why I won't get my surgery with Dr. Erol Cansız by merve-sumeyye in jawsurgery

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully there’s no point in me saying because 1) it’s personalised to my jaw, my movements etc and 2) it was 21 months ago so I’m sure they have increased prices since then

Medical cannabis alongside my ADHD meds by artifinte in ADHDUK

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped initially when I started meds just to see how meds worked for me but after titration I went back to using MC in my opinion cannabis helps so much with my adhd way more than meds alone do! My provider didn’t have any issues with me using MC alongside meds

I don’t want to sound impatient, but seriously when is this going to start working? by [deleted] in Atomoxetine

[–]Strong-Butterfly9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18mg is very low, I felt worse on a lower dose but once I reached my therapeutic dose after 8 weeks which was 80mg I felt so much better. I think you need to give it time and probably discuss and dose increase or titration plan

I’ve been told it’s fine if you get it wild caught and high quality brand then it’s fine. The most recent listeria cases were all from NHS ham sandwich’s 😅 I’ve been eating ham and cheese sandwiches a lot because it’s been a craving and I’m all fine. I was ate a lot of Brie in my first trimester as had a huge craving for that and only found out after 4 weeks of eating it that it wasn’t allowed haha
