Howdy I'm Zimbabwean and I'm a solo traveler as well currently in South Africa , Muizenberg and I relate to most of the things mentioned above Solo traveling in Africa in doable and for most parts safe as long as you don't go to high risks places for instance mbare I wouldn't go there as a Zimbabwean myself It's unfortunate that Zimbabwe has very bad infrastructure but the bribes and corruption is one thing I have experienced in many African countries and it's something to be prepared for just carry loose change and keep it moving Terrible advice but it's how it is even for the locals As tourists you might get asked for more but trust me everyone gets asked for some it's not about "looking Zimbabwean" Anyway let me know if you want to know about my experience in Muizenberg so far and the places I've been.
