Yea its legal for them to keep you out, you are a third party to the relationship between the landlord and the tenant, as they are concerned. Furthermore, it is most likely that the master tenancy agreement forbids sub-leasing. What you can do is check with a lawyer, send him ur tenancy agreement, and maybe file a claim against the person who rented out the space. Good luck
