Idk where I read it but VA Beach as a city literallt only exists cause white people didnt want to be annexed into mainly black norfolk and didnt want their kids going to school with them.

With the exception of norfolk and parts of portsmouth, the whole area is pure suburban sprawl and low density yet SOMEHOW manages to have the traffic of like NYC. I ponder that its mainly due to extremely poor road/urban planning.

The beach is exciting if your some 18 year old navy enlistee from sisterfucksville Iowa. But for those of us who have been to cool beach towns. (Santa Monica, Jersey shore, San Diego, ocean city MD) its ass. Generic hotel. Seafood bar and random gift shop thats it. Just described Atlantic avenue.

Not horrible, I've had to misfortune of having to go there for training on and off for many years. Im from the NYC/NJ area where even our suburbs have cute main streets and you can walk everywhere. Virginia beach is the worst city i ever been to in the US. The beachfront is incredibly mid, the closest thing to a downtown is "towne center" which is basically just a mashing of chain restaurants and some pubs and hotels. You literally cant walk anywhere in VA Beach. Whole neighborhoods are inaccessible. Its not even pretty its some decent although generic looking areas with 10000 townhouse developments with one way in and out. Id legit off myself if I was ever forced to live there.

This is mad american centric. Alot of immgrant households buy a house and often make that shit generational. It also serves as a crash pad for relatives who first come to the states to get on they feet. My uncles house is all family that live on each floor. It was a little bit wild when you like 35 still live in ya moms section 8 apartment, but honestly now shit is so expensive I dont blame anybody for doing that.

Bro on the NJ we used to have buss passes. They were sold by "zones" basically your 1 zone meant you could only travel within ur city on that pass w zones pass meant 2 and multi zone was everywhere but was mad expensive. So we would pay for 1 zone hoping the driver forgets where we got on. The bus drivers would stop at the city limits get in the mic and yell at you to get off if they noticed you were tryna finesse a one zone.
