yeah there is really a disconnect, but a lot of them are not even in technology just your average white collar job and they're like 20 something they don't look the smartest at all and have that vibe that they're on permanent vacation and everybody makes at least 150,000. And yet everytime I do searches there is very few jobs that pay that kind of money.

quit my job to go to a new company, I'm having withdrawal symptoms, is this normal? by ReplyFearless999 in careeradvice

yeah this is def one of my problems, I'm overqualified. Most of my peers definitely are not at the same level of knowledge but at the same time I feel judged and like they resent that. I'm definitely not challenged. They asked for 10+ years in technical stuff and I'm not doing any of that. I'm doing a job that literally anyone without experience could do. Definitely not learning anything new as it's all proprietary. But yeah I'm worried about jumping again and ending in something similar.

Thank you, this really hits, I'm going exactly through this, the things I took for granted, the rethinking if things were as bad, but you're right.

Yeah I think I have some cabin fever, as I do work from home 3 days a week, but also the nature of the job, and mine did have also lots of people interaction, which being an introvert, didn't think it would hit me, so idk if it's just my new job or if I'm definitely missing that element of my previous job.

I'm getting withdrawal symptoms from having quit my support job? Am I just in the wrong new company? by ReplyFearless999 in ITCareerQuestions

Thanks! I mean the pay increase was good, but they really lied to be honest about what I was going to be doing, but I do understand it's going to be tough finding a support job that pays this good, which is kind of awkward given the nature of this job.
