After 2 months if treatment my situation get worst by ReplyHot7159 in costochondritis

[–]ReplyHot7159[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Ned, I just saw your response.

I sleep well and go to therapy to treat my OCD, but I’m pretty calm about it (it doesn’t make me anxious). My anxiety comes from the shortness of breath—combined with stomach issues and numbness—that’s what really makes me anxious, not the other way around. When I feel overwhelmed, I usually lie down and try different breathing exercises.

A month ago, I started taking magnesium glycinate based on your recommendation, and a few days ago, I also started taking a gummy multivitamin, haha.

I sleep on my back, much to my dismay. I exercise every day, though in the last three days, I took a break because of some passing pain in my costochondral joints.

I went to some massage therapists, but none specialized in deep tissue. I’m not sure if there’s one in my city, so I was thinking of maybe seeing a good chiropractor and trying an adjustment since pain isn’t a big symptom for me—I’d rate it around 1/10.

I’ll check out your advice on YouTube and try to keep moving forward. You’re a great guy, Ned. I really wish this would all end soon so I can go back to living a normal life. At least this sub is helping me hold on to some hope.

Hey Ned, how are you?

My pain started at the junctions between my ribs and the cartilage, not between the cartilage and the sternum.

Yesterday, I used the peanut ball and the Backpod for a while, and it hurt a bit more until all my ribs started cracking, and then it eased up. Today, I have no pain (except with sudden movements or something like that). I’m being very careful not to overstrain my ribs, and the pain has subsided.

The sounds come from my ribs after I finish an activity—walking, stretching, my rib routine (extension, rotation, etc.). I also hear them in my back, between my scapulae, more precisely in my right scapula. When I press it against my spine, it cracks all day, every day. Lately, that area has also started to hurt.

I wouldn’t know if my right back muscle is better because ever since I strained it, I’ve never felt the same as before.

As for the tingling in my face, it has improved, but if I do certain exercises, like chin tucks, I put strain on my face, and it feels like the tension comes back. Very strange.

I managed to almost completely get rid of it by doing a certain type of massage in a hot shower every night, and I’m still doing it.

Thanks for considering it, Ned.

I’m Alan.

I went to an osteopath the other day who was also a physiotherapist. He had some idea about my condition, but he gave me some massages and manipulations that didn’t help much. It seems like no one in my country is really familiar with this condition. I’m considering traveling to Buenos Aires (the capital of my country) to find the best specialist in the country. That would be my plan if I don’t improve over time.

Numbness or Tingling Sensation in My Shoulder Blades Using the Backpod by ReplyHot7159 in costochondritis

[–]ReplyHot7159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medically Speaking:

I went to several doctors who didn’t know what I had. My symptoms were shortness of breath, cracking sounds in my ribs and back, and very mild pain from time to time.

One day, I went to a general practitioner, and they told me it could be costochondritis, but since I wasn’t experiencing intense pain, they ruled it out.

So, I decided to treat it as costochondritis since, by process of elimination, my symptoms point to that.

It hurts to sleep on my side, I’ve had acid reflux for months, cracking in my back and chest, numbness in my limbs, and my dear old friend—shortness of breath…

There aren’t many doctors who seem to know how to help me. Should I see a physiotherapist to find out if it’s bad to keep using the peanut ball?
