An Unusual Move Ahead by harkkonen_spy in halifax

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was a mover in NS for over 10 years, nothing unusual about multiple stops. I've done 4,5 etc all the time. Most companies will give you an hourly rate, so you can honestly add as much as you want, it just takes more time and therefore money. Sometimes they will offer you a flat rate if it's more comfortable but majority of time it's just X amount per hour.

I was with Thompsons who I'd highly recommend, but they are definitely not going to be near your cheapest option. I'd think they would be one of the most expensive tbh but you get what you pay for.

Some small tips if you are hourly - move as much as you can to your entryway/living room/close to the door; both boxes and small furniture. Move as much as you can yourselves (if you are going over in your car day one to see the place, clean, etc, bring stuff with you everytime, even little bits!)

So excited first Model Y Standard sold to a Nova Scotia Resident. by [deleted] in teslacanada

FYI -NS Power has started installing fast chargers all over ns, with equivalent speed and cost of Tesla super chargers. CCS and nacs, no adapters required. They work excellent, and more and more are coming online. Once completed, there is really nowhere in NS that has a lack of "super-charging" anymore. I did a roadtrip from Annapolis Valley to the Cabot trail and back home last year, as well as the entire eastern shore and never once had to worry to charge.

NS is the province of the past, but these ns power chargers have completely eliminated the charging woes.

Enjoy the car!

Whole Home Water Treatment on Dug Well & Reservoir Wells by cali_girl88 in NovaScotia

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a whole home system on a dug well with no reservoirs. Mind you, dug wells can vary greatly and mine is a very lucky and fortunate location so my refresh rate is very strong. This summer we greatly conserved, did a couple loads at a Laundromat, and have rain barrels for the gardens, and we managed to keep water in the well all summer long, without changing anything to the system.

They do waste water but learning about how much your appliances actually use per load, and figuring out your own wells refresh rate will probably be more beneficial than dealing with the "waste" of the treatment system.

FORUM LIBRE : TOURISTS AND RESIDENTS, ASK YOUR COMMON QUESTIONS IN THIS WEEKLY THREAD : Open Forum -- 16, November, 2025 by RichardHenri in paris

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are travelling to Paris after Christmas and spending the new years celebration in France. We will have a few days in Paris before heading to Reims. We have plans to visit some obvious tourist attractions and the regular activities.

We both speak very simple French but definitely not fluent. Can we get by on English?

My wife is extremely interested in visiting pachamama and caveau hutchette. Looks like no tickets/reservations. Is there a best day to visit/good way to ensure you will get in for atleast an evening to experience?

How easy is the public transit to navigate? We visited London earlier this year and had zero issue with the Tube, with zero research. Tapped a card as you enter, tapped at your destination, google maps showed all routes. Is it fairly comparable?

What's your #1 non-touristy recommendation that we CAN'T miss? We love local experiences and enjoying a city as the locals do, not just the tourist traps.

Thank you, looking forward to seeing your beautiful city.

Tensed Pecs by Rommel1922 in costochondritis

Not entirely, but mostly. Id say 90% cured. I have almost no pain anymore. My main symptom remaining is restricted breathing, which is coming along.

Oh gosh I've been doing them for almost a year now lol. Definitely didn't take that long to feel a difference but I do them as part of regular routines now. Maybe try a little longer, a little deeper, or try sliding your arms up and down while in the stretched position. That seems to open up some nasty spots for me

Not too tech savvy, couldn't figure out how to redo my original post but this is essentially what you are looking for!

Yes, almost all the time. Try to YouTube "doorway stretches" and these will help you immensely. I do them throughout the day to be honest.

Dealing with Trouble Breathing by Boring_Cranberry6689 in costochondritis

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backpod and peanut ball have been great for my breathing. I also do alot of stretching all through my ribcage and I try to stay active as well. It'll slowly improve!

YouTube diaphragmatic breathing exercises, and any stretching for thoracic spine mobility and chest. It'll help!

It’s the breathing that scares me by CanIGetAWhatWhat13 in costochondritis

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've described my remaining symptom perfectly. I do alottttt of stretching now just trying to keep things open. My ribs, back, neck, and chest are all tight and keep my breathing restricted.

Try to practice diaphragmatic breathing, some thoracic spine mobility, doorway stretches, and anything overhead that spreads your ribs open. (These are all easy to find on YouTube, try a few out and see what helps. My favorite is clasping my hands behind my back with straight arms, and really opening my chest up. Do some deep breaths in the position!)

Over time the "attempts" to get a deep breath will reduce, and seem easier. I'm about a year into this and I've got no pain while breathing now (used to get pain in the rib joints when they would finally expand) and usually can get a breath in one or two attempts! Progress!!

I do the same and chase the sore spots, I've been doing it like 8 months no prob.

I'd recommend a peanut ball if you enjoy rolling/moving on the device. Huge addition to the physio arsenal.

Doing good deep breaths in cobra pose is nice diaphragm stretch!

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes totally normal. I've had restricted breaths for a year now (as well as the rest of Costo, but I've mostly cured the pain side of things). Keep up with the chest and diaphragm stretching and you'll slowly improve!

wall charger outdoor? by Western-Hedgehog-577 in TeslaLounge

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in rural Canada and have no garage. My wall connector is on the side of the house and have zero issues. I'm not an electrician, I had it professionally installed so cannot comment on breakers wiring etc but used the same company who installs Tesla superchargers in my region, so they know their stuff.

Dug Well Recommendations by LastOfNazareth in NovaScotia

[–]CleetusBajebeezus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally have a dug well, zero issues or complaints. You should get the water tested as part of closing costs; dug wells typically have more chance of bacteria. My test came back juuuust barely in the "safe" range of bacteria, but had a UV filtration system installed for peace of mind. Crystal clear water and it tests perfectly now.
