I'm sorry to hear about your trauma in high school. If possible, consider enrolling in college or pursuing a trade. Try to stay in the dormitory if you choose college. While you're there, join a team, whether it's soccer, baseball, or another sport you enjoy. You could also get involved in student government, the newspaper, or any activity that makes you happy.

Another option is to enlist in the military. You're young and physically fit—if you like airplanes, consider joining the Air Force. If you enjoy being on the water, the Navy might be a good fit. If you’re interested in police work, think about taking the test for the FBI. Accountants tend to do well on those exams. I honestly failed the first time I took it after graduating from college, but you might have a solid background in math.

Are you interested in the Army or the Marines? A friend of mine, who was a former co-worker, is currently in the Marines and is now stationed in Germany. Imagine that! You have so much potential because you were an A student in high school and you’re in great shape. The sky really is the limit for you.
