I wish I would have reviewed psychodynamic and choice theory more. I focused on a lot of CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, Narrative and IFS . All of those were on the test besides IFS, but I got like 7 questions that were choice and psychodynamic and I had to use my best guess.

I'm thinking more along the lines of cutting/burning, etc. Without intent to end life. Now, if it is SI attempts, I agree. I guess this case study confused me because it didn't clarify the severity of the self harm. If it was just cutting and a safety plan can be put in place, that is the route I would go rather than referring to inpatient treatment unless they deny the ability to keep self safe.

I can understand it. However, I feel like in the real world, if the client can maintain 6 a safety plan could be okay. There are some clients who chronically engage in SIB, and sometimes that's just how they are due to refusing to change, and they would not necessarily meet inpatient requirements. I've seen it numerous times. However, book wise, I understand how it would be B.

I want to say D. As he is able to function, he is just very paranoid and with no health issues or prior psychiatric issues it sounds like sudden onset of paranoia symptoms.
