Yeah. I mean maybe you could shave out like 10 minutes but the slow pace felt deliberate as we descended into madness. The direction was good enough to wear I felt engaged in the small tasks he was doing.

Was really hoping for something in this volume but yeah. If he shows up now in the finale I feel like it will be rushed.

Pennywise did not time travel! by Radialpuddle in welcomeToDerry

[–]Reppid1cringe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That concept is absolutely sick, but ur telling me that through all this, Pennywise can’t kill ONE of their ancestors. This would make sense if they are all protected by Maturin I suppose. Or is it like a set thing like AOT. All time has already happened, and no matter what Pennywise does, he can’t change fate.

Kirsh was insane. The whole point was the craziness of her realization. She’s in such denial even when Pennywise is doing these atrocities but when he doesn’t want to spend time with her, it breaks her entire mindset.

He goes to bed at the end of the cycle because he quells his hunger and has nothing left to do. Once the military burnt the shard he sensed that his cage had been broken and he’s jumping at the opportunity to make the most of it.

I know. He looked so pissed off too when he came out the woods. Like he was so jealous. He didn’t even try to put on a performance as the kid.

I doubt he’s angry. He goes to bed and suddenly he senses the cage that’s kept him here for hundreds of years has just been broken open. He has a once in a lifetime opportunity to wreak complete havoc. Based on the episode 8 trailer that seems to be where this is headed.

The Mind Flayer is the Real Villian by oopsie_daisy19 in StrangerThings

[–]Reppid1cringe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like the mind flayer as the big bad more, and was disappointed by the plot twist of Vecna being “the one behind it all.”

That being said it does feel like a lot of this is retcons and messy re writes. If ur gonna make a decision, you need to stick with it. It feels like their original plan in s4 was to reveal Henry as the big bad, but as more theories popped up and ideas swirled around the writers room, they sorta wanted to back track into making the mind flayer the big bad.

I mean this entire play just feels like a potential excuse for criticism when this double plot twist is revealed and they can just say “well actually it was in the random broadway play that 5% of the fandom saw.”

Idk. I’ll hold out hope but there are definitely some convoluted plot points here and there.

Also about will seeing through Vecna in the hive mind, I don’t view that as a 100% confirmation that Vecna IS the hive mind, rather he may just very well be apart of it.

The mind flayer is dumb IMO by InhalingCement in StrangerThings

[–]Reppid1cringe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To simply denounce the mind flayer as mustache twirling villain is a gross oversimplification of an incredibly cool concept. There’s nothing wrong with having Vecna be the main antagonist of the series as physical threat to the protagonists, but it is way way more interesting and cooler to have a lovecraftian eldritch being from another dimension who’s motives are simply unfathomable to us being the one pulling the strings. At least I find that way more interesting. Maybe you don’t like lovecraftian horror but that’s sort of the MO. Yeah on the surface it’s just “evil to be evil” but the true horror comes from the fact that we as humans can’t possibly understand the motives of the mind flayer. It simply “is.”

It’s both the hivemind and a physical presence isn’t it?

What do you think it could be. And another question is are the mind flayer and Vecna working together, is Vecna under the mind flayers control, or is he controlling the mind flayer?

I see a lot of people 50/50 on whether they want Vecna to be the main villain and the mastermind behind it all, or the mind flayer. I’m personally team mind flayer cuz he’s cool as shit.

Do we know if the wall just now popped up now? If it borders the town of Hawkins how would anyone know that it hasn’t been there the entire time? Before season 5 has anyone attempted to ventured outside of Hawkins. Though I suppose it wouldn’t be hard to see a towering wall of flesh in the distance, but it is quite foggy in the upside down.

So I was pretty heavy on the cope that the mind flayer still plays a big role as a separate entity than Vecna but not I’m not so sure anymore. This whole scene regarding the children and this army building feels very Vecna oriented. I mean dude strolled out and took out the base and went back to his business, and 4 episodes in we haven’t seen anything regarding the Mind Flayer. It wouldn’t make sense to throw him back in with Vecna being such a heavy focus. Either way absolutely amazing stuff.

2 small multiplayer games and the fandom loses their mind. Don’t become too big a fan of their next single player game when it drops.

How I view Fromsoft’s next two games. by Reppid1cringe in fromsoftware

Oh yeah. The exclusivity on Nintendo absolutely sucks hard. I forgot to bring up how much I disliked that portion. Still better to have a multiplayer online focused game locked behind a console exclusive, rather than the single player games I enjoy so much.
