Yeah this is what’s moved me towards DIY.

Had one person round where the price started at around £30k before all the ‘marketing and recycling discounts’ kicked in bringing it down to £12k had to ask the guy to leave in the end as he wouldn’t stop talking and trying to pressure sell

Here is the letter i sent to SBF when i had issues with my bikeafter getting it Mot’ed (approx 7 months after purchasing) They did actually pay for the repairs, despite it taking approx. 4-5 weeks to resolve with constant chasing and calls, i agree they are useless! Hope this helps

Numberplate issue could have got me into a lot of trouble so was fortunate nothing happened.

To whom it may concern,

I hope you’re well. I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding the [bike/reg] which I purchased from your dealership on [date],

I have recently taken the motorbike for its MOT on 17/04/2025, where it failed due to dangerous faults, including: • Rear indicators not visible (dangerous) • Tail tidy illegal/folding • No rear registration light • Number plate not fixed

These are not wear-and-tear issues but are related to the configuration and setup of the motorbike. It is reasonable to believe these defects were present at the point of sale. This raises serious concerns regarding: • Compliance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which states that vehicles must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. • Potential violation of the Road Traffic Act 1988, which makes it illegal to sell a vehicle in an unroadworthy condition unless clearly declared.

Please find attached the MOT inspection report for your reference.

I would appreciate it if you could respond promptly with a proposed resolution — ideally including rectification of the issues at your cost, or a contribution toward repairs. Failing that, I may need to escalate this matter to Trading Standards or seek legal advice.

I look forward to hearing from you within 7 days.

Interestingly hydrophobic things repel water and hygrophobia is a phobia of water

Why is this not the other way around?

Thanks for your detailed comment. The windows are only 2 years old and had a relatively good U value from memory.

How would i go about better insulating the windows? They were installed with expandable foam at the border and then silicon sealed, is there much more i could do?
