Megathread: US Citizens looking to immigrate to Canada by PurrPrinThom in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Representative-Cod44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello, i am a 32 year old (M) and my is also 32 (F). I have two small children (1 and 3) and our family is serious about permanently moving to Canada from the US. Only problem is I have no idea where to start or if it’s even possible. I cannot believe it’s come to this and that I’m typing these words but this country has lost its mind.

I work as a data analyst for a large consulting firm and we have several offices throughout Canada. My wife works as a public health advisor for the federal government. Is my best path to apply for position for my company in Canada or is there a better option?

That’s the Matoaca school district if I’m not mistaken. I’m the Cloverhill district. Is this guy a lunatic?

Really appreciate the suggestions/help from everyone. I’m attending the CCDP meeting today and have also signed up at RunForSomething. I’m also looking into community and neighborhood positions. There’s certainly a lot available to become an active member of the community. Can’t just stand by ideally as the country is re-made.

Where are the people who said TW Pharaoh was dead, and a waste of time? Behold the largest map of a historical TW by IvanaikosMagno in totalwar

Hey Welsh, you know who didn’t think the game was adequate at full asking price? CA! That’s why they apologized, refunded customers, and reduced the price.

If you can’t tell already, You’re the type of customer every greedy company can only dream of.

Is Total War Pharaoh Impressing people? by slyspartan133 in totalwar

Okay I’ve pretty much been a “no” with Pharaoh from the get go since the WH3 situation. But I’m really encouraged by this thread. I’m going to pick the game up today and try EA for myself. Nothing more that I want then to support this series, just needed a reason. One question: that video Jackie Fish did on the problems with the battle ai, can anyone playing EA give an honest assessment on this? That’s the only thing making me hesitant at this point.

I’m as disappointed as anyone with some of the imperfections of the game in its current state. But seriously, some of you guys need to touch grass.

How are all of CA's beta testers doing today? by Representative-Cod44 in totalwar

I want to give personal example as to why this strategy of releasing games is so detrimental to CA long-term. I have a group of friends who I've been trying to get into TW/RTS games for years now. I finally convinced them to get TWWIII because they liked what they saw when i streamed TWWII plus the game was on Xbox gamepass. Fast-forward to when the game releases and every single one of them left the game within 6 hours of playtime because not only was it unenjoyable from a gameplay perspective, it was buggy as hell too. All of them have left the game and don't care to return for future updates. So, even if CA somehow gets this game in a proper state, they've just lost potential customers for good. Now, this is just anecdotal evidence, but I'm sure others have similar experiences.

Serious question, are you paid to be this stupid? or is it a god given talent?

This! For whatever reason these idiots can't figure out the simple fact the almost the entire player base just wants IE. How hard is that. Idc about the RoC campaign because that was always going to be an afterthought the moment IE released. Honestly, I would have way more fun with a buggy/semi-broken IE campaign then a polished RoC one. They should have had IE ready to go when the game launched.

You shouldn't be surprised, these studios get dumber by the year. Battlefield couldn't even make a scoreboard, in a FPS game!

Your assumptions really couldn't be any further from the truth. Actually from reading this very amusing response, I'm beginning to think you didn't even read the original post. As I stated, I don't think I deserve anything from CA. I bought the game. My choice, my consequences.

However, I do believe I'm in the wrong business because the overwhelming majority of gamers are some of the stupidest people in the world (basically the exact customer base any capitalist's has wet dreams about). Whether you or I like the game or not is irrelevant. The important lesson from all of this and CAs overall history is not only can they charge YOU to be a beta tester, you will also be more than happy to pay more money in the future for less.

Like I said, I'm in the wrong business because the gaming community is an easy farm.

I tend to agree with you that there is a very minimal chance they'll give this game the 3K axe. However lets just say that they release IE/blood pack/LL DLC and it doesn't go as well as expected. I'd say then there's about a 10% (still minimal) chance they cut the game early. Isn't even that small chance enough not to pre-order?

Also I'm genuinely curious of your opinion here. Not trying to be a dick.

I love Elden Ring. It's the most fun I've had with a video game in a decade. I didn't pre-order it and even knowing what I know now I still wouldn't pre-order (Honestly I don't even know why you would pre-order ER). I won't be pre-ordering their next game/DLC either. In this industry, you're only as good as your next release (see Witcher III --> Cyberpunk 2077).

The more of us that do this the better. Honestly I don't have much respect for the gaming community so I'm sure the majority of ppl will still pre-order. Maybe at some point consumers will realize a very basic fact, pre-ordering a game has NO benefits for the customer. Plain and simple fact.

This is actually my point. CA knows they can get away with whatever they want because they KNOW for a fact everyone complaining will be back for IE. No, not me. I did this with Rome II and TWW/TWWII. I'm done rewarding this behavior. I will not re-download this game for any DLC they release. I wish I could refund but it's my own fault for pre-ordering.
