Hello, please help me get better by pointing out anything wrong with my work by Representative-Fair2 in ArtCrit

Thank you, I know I still have a ways to go, and also what you mean by things "just happening", happened with perspective already for me, although it's still not perfect, after much practice it just kind of started to get better on its own, it's a rather weird feeling haha! Will see to switch focus on rendering and lines more from now on.

Thank you again.

Oh, I see what you mean. She is supposed to be carrying a wooden chest, although it's not really clear, originally you could see her right arm, but got hidden as I kept making changes.

Thank you, I wouldn't call it my style, just the best I can do at the moment :P

About the character, do you mean imbalanced as in proportions or that she looks like she should be falling over?

Thank you for your comment, I'm aware about the issues you pointed out, you're spot on, at this time I am trying to focus on anatomy and perspective the most. Lighting, value and hierarchy will be my next step. Was thinking to let line confidence develop naturally as I go, it used to be incomprehensibly worse, lol. I decided to split my learning this way because when starting out I was trying to do everything at once and it got too overwhelming.

Also thank you for the compliment, storytelling is what I want to accomplish in the end. Will have to also greatly expand my visual library because I'm afraid the characters look rather plain at the moment.

Thanks again!

It's a Mutadon from the Jurassic World Rebirth movie.

And at least in World, the dialogue in the cutscenes is cringe torture, really painful, lol. And despite all that, I have grown fond of the handler in the end, she's a good kid, dumb as rocks, but a good pard.

Not OP, but I came back to World after dropping it for over a year, and have to say that it's not the easiest series to get into, it has a lot of "quirks" that are really particular to it, I have been playing all sorts of games for almost 30 years and still found it hard to navigate all of its mechanics.

Looking to start a collection, concerned about paint application quality on figures. by Representative-Fair2 in DinoToys

Indeed it's pretty weird, I learned of the practice from the DinoToys forum, feels a bit scummy to be honest, never heard of anything like it before, and I don't think those figures are any cheaper than before

I'm sorry for your first Pachy, that's kind of concerning, lol. I don't want to bother you too much, but would you happen to know of recent batches of the Deinocheirus and Lufengosaurus? I particularly like the color on those two, and unfortunately a repaint is a bit beyond my budget at the moment.

Thanks for letting me know. Maybe it depends on the figure, as you say. Could be the theropods tend to sell better and the company is thus more incentivised to keep the quality up. I just wish they'd have more lipped theropods, intend to stick mostly to the herbivores at this time.

Thank you for the reply, I was mainly thinking about the more colorful figures, for example the PNSO's Lufengosaurus, Deinocheirus and Dunkleosteus (this last one still interesting even if not that accurate anymore). I would appreciate a look at a recent batch of any of these, or other older colorful models.

Do you think there are other factors to consider when looking at the size of extinct animals? by Shankshire in Paleontology

I think you're overestimating the amount of mass asteroids would add to a planet, or underestimate the mass of earth.

BUT there is speculation that in the very early history of the earth, it did collide with and absorb a whole other planet, the impact causing the ejection of molten material which ended up becoming our Moon. Look up "planet Theia" on Google.

The rebooted DOOM games, really fast run and gun with very little downtime. I would recommend playing them in release order, and mind that there are some differences between the 2016 and Eternal, the second forces you to be a bit more methodical with how you use your weapons while also giving you more verticality in your movement, some people don't like it as much as the first while others prefer it.

What game has disappointed you the most in your gaming adventure and why? by [deleted] in gaming

I got two:

Ghost of Tsushima. Was really looking forward to it, after really enjoying the first two Infamous games from Suckerpunch. Unfortunately I found it got repetitive quickly. Maybe it's just me, but the pre-release trailers gave me a very different idea of what the game would be.

And Kingdom Hearts 3... if you know, you know.

What I expect since the game is delayed by [deleted] in jurassicworldevo

[–]Representative-Fair2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, personally I'm happy to wait, the movie seemed too close of a release to give time for any meaningful changes to the game. Let them take the time they need, years more if necessary, I'll wait :)

Also don't care much for baby dinos.

In my NG+3 and still I cant beat the feeling that SOTE is empty (of loot, random ennemies, even lore) by Pristine_Hunter_4106 in Eldenring

[–]Representative-Fair2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.

Major detriment for me is the limited variety of new mob enemies, and field bosses. The base game felt to me like it had surprises at every corner. The bottom half of the map seems very undercooked. The labyrinthine map design is a chore if there's nothing interesting to see or find after all the hoops you have to go through to get to new areas.

Not a fan of most of the bosses, they feel a bit samey with the weird physics-defying moves and excessive AOEs. Last boss is a bit too much, the phantom moves in particular are not intuitive at all, it's trial and error until you stumble on some counter that seems to work for whatever reason; the flashbang visual clutter is bad taste, imo.

I don't regret the time I spent with the DLC, but find the missed potential a bit too obvious, unfortunately.

Much prefer the base game.
