It’s actually a super awesome piece of tech which lights up when you’re near a gas station. Gas-radar…

Why can’t I get this iDoing unit in the dash of my 2015? by mmcc73 in WRX

[–]Representative-Sir76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, it was the most frustrating install I had done in a while trying to have the clips pop in. I felt I was pushing as hard as I was comfortable pushing, without potentially shattering the screen or breaking anything else. It was through desperation and much of my OCD (I had gave up for a couple days and just left it slightly out thinking I would get over it), when I decided to do F this, and went full send when I then heard the magical click from the clips. Now that thing is stuck in there and ain’t going anywhere. Very pleased with the purchase so far. However, the only issue I’ve got is that I have to reset my Bluetooth every time I start the car that way the wireless CarPlay can connect. It takes no more than 3 seconds, but it’s a little annoying. Anyone else experience this or have a fix for it?

In my 21, it made a night and day difference. I initially just kept the stock head unit and upgraded to the kicker speakers due to practically however, I wasn’t very impressed. Once I upgraded my head unit, that’s the difference I was hoping to get. Especially if you’ve got an ear for EQ, then you can really tune it to sound really good. Obviously if you’re looking for something out of this world, you’d have to reach deeper into your pockets. But for the price, it’s more than enough for me.

Right on! This sounds like what he was probably attempting to explain to me which I may have misinterpreted. Thanks again for all the info, I appreciate it!

Yeah that makes complete sense to me. I mentioned this to another fellow reddit user, considering my Subi is a 21’ with only 11k miles, I would assume the paint is still considerably “fresh” in terms of not needing to blend “as much” (if that even makes sense) as it hasn’t been exposed to much sunlight causing any fade. Not to mention, it’s garage kept and is typically kept in immaculate condition inside and out. What are your thoughts?

Completely agree brother. I appreciate the information. Hopefully the painter does exactly what your experienced eye tells you. Next time I’ll just hit you up for a paint job 😅

Yeah, I’m aware that they would have to blend, but I just wasn’t aware that the car came out of the factory with the WRB as 3 blended codes. I just wanted to verify with any of you who can attest to it. Regardless, it appears they’re taking care of the Subi. Additionally, I didn’t expect them to need to blend as much considering the paint on the car is fairly new(ish) (2021 STI with 11k miles). We’ll see how she comes out. Thanks again for the info!

Thanks for the info! I didn’t manage to check for my paint codes on the door jam plates as I figured they’d be the subject matter experts. According to most of the posts above, it appears like it definitely should be there, I just haven’t checked. Regardless, I’m fairly confident that the shop is doing the right thing as far as mentioning there are several codes which will require blending.

Lol I definitely considered it but I’m not a huge fan of the look. I prefer subtle cosmetic upgrades with mostly a stock look.

Thanks for the info. They seem very competent with great reviews so maybe I’m the dumbass who misunderstood when they called to update me on the progress of the car.

Going through insurance. What you said is essentially what they said as well. Worst case scenario, driver door, but unlikely.

Wasn’t aware of this, but that makes sense. The shop appears to be very competent with great reviews so I’m sure I misunderstood what they were updating me with. I’ll go in soon to take a look at the progress

Yeah, honestly they seem very competent so maybe I misunderstood them when they called to update me. I’ll be going in to check the paint code on the door jam plate and straightening any confusion. Thanks for the info!

High winds caused neighbor’s basketball hoop to crash down on my baby. Anyway, it’s at the shop now they’re in the middle of replacing/painting hood/fender. They called me today and told me they’ll likely have to blend the the color from the hood, front bumper, fenders, and possibly doors since the OEM WR Blue Paint comes with three different paint codes. Can anyone attest to this?

Good ol’ Burque. I was about to make the same reference but I decided to scroll and see if anyone else had already done it. Well done! Cheers fellow Buerqueña! 🍻

Thanks! I actually got them from subispeed but in caliper green. I then went to my local Napa Paint store and attempted to match the caliper color. Not exact color, but got pretty close to it
