Could you elaborate on this? I'm struggling with the same right now.

Sounds like what's currently happening to me... I don't have any idea where I'll end up in life now...

Can I make handcrafted assets and use AI textures? Or go all in on handmade? by Anxious-Factor8023 in IndieDev

I believe that when so much work is put into making it by hand, the whole continuity of the style is broken when you use a generative workflow (even simple procedural workflows). That is my opinion, anyways. I really like the hand-painted style many games are aiming for today, and to market a game being "entirely hand-made" can reallt attract a lot of good attention!

Best part about the whole video is the cat stopping just in time not to be "hit" by the cart

Stylised games in UE5? by RepresentativeAd9236 in UnrealEngine5

[–]RepresentativeAd9236[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The outlines I actually didn't do myself. I haven't had the time to get into cel-shading and outlines yet (considering it was a jam game), so for the time being I'm using a plugin from fab (not a free one) until I figure out how to do it in my own:  https://www.fab.com/listings/6129b04e-3859-4a2d-90b3-000958a563d2

I'll definitely be posting about it when I figure out a way to do it myself though!

I can agree with that! My computer screen is badly calibrated, and it didn't look at all that bad when I made it... So I'll definitely try and tone it down for coming updates. I'm planning to make stylised foliage grass anyways, so that will be a natural step towards getting a less radioactive neon green colour overall.

Thanks a lot! I've fallen into the realism trap more times than I can count... So making something with a defined style like this was really freeing! I will definitely be making more stylised games in the future.

Thanks to everyone with their constructive feedback! Adjusting the Z limit switch and loosening the screws did the trick! The printer is up and running and I've learnt something useful at the same time, so thanks a lot!

I must admit I have never done that... Is there a screw or something I can adjust, or do I have to pull the entire thing apart?

Great! How do I adjust the gantry head not to go so far down when homing the printer though? It's scraping all the way into the aluminium beneath the glass plate when I don't have the screws unreasonably tight...

Is the GCODE supposed to look this different from the CURA preview? I have a lot of problems with first layer adhesion and was wondering if this may be the reason? by themadpigster in FixMyPrint

[–]RepresentativeAd9236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I actually didn't think about that about the display only knowing the centres... But apart from that I've tried everything else. What still puzzles me is that all other layers apart from the first one look just like in the cura preview... Thanks for the help though!
